The cachers that know me (or more accurately used to know me), know that my caching life has dramatically decreased in recent years due to increased demands in other areas of life. I’ve done my best to maintain the many caches I have. Over time, some caches have needed more attention than I’ve been able to give so I’ve been archiving them. Most of these were non-sentimental or outdated. However, I’ve always tried to keep the caches that people need to complete the Wisconsin Rustic Road Challenge alive because they seem to still be popular and I know there are a few people working on completing the challenge.
Unfortunately, I no longer can keep up with the maintenance required and there is a good chance they will need to be archived over time. As example, one particular cache in Waupaca Co. (GC1Y567) went missing a bit ago and will likely be automatically archived before I can do anything about it. The cache on WRR 82 in Fond du Lac Co. was already lost because of the same reason.
I am calling out to the Geocaching community for help keeping this challenge alive. I need to find adopters for all of my WRR caches. Also, I’m looking for a premium member who is willing to take on the Wisconsin Rustic Road Challenge and maintenance of the WRR cache list.

Jay, I still have great memories of the back and forth between the two of us when you were looking to place your cache on WRR 50. Drove by the spot a few times this fall on our leaf peeping tours there, and we will be glad to take on the responsibility for that cache and the other two.
Pete, we happened to check on the WRR final when we were there doing the Hartman Creek Trails series, and we were afraid that it might have fallen victim to the logging… but we found the geobeacon and spotted the container, so things were OK there about a month ago. Thanks for taking on the final for this great series.

The adoption requests came through very weird – as a trackable adoption and then when I accepted, I was adopting my own cache. So the first two have not transferred. Not sure what is up.

I can take Goat Ranch Road. It looks like Middle Road needs some TLC ASAP. I’m not sure that I want to adopt that one but I can try my hardest to get over there in the next week to replace it to bide some more time for you to find someone else to adopt it. Maybe you could PM me and let me know what kind of container it is so that I can bring one with me?

I was going to say I would take the Mountain Rd one but it’s not on the last updated list. 🙁
Although I am too far out to adopt any, I will likely be placing one on Riley Road in Southern Dane County soon.
