The following are the meeting minutes for our General Membership meeting held after the picnic on August 19, 2006.

August 19, 2006
Nordic/Muir Trails, Southern Kettle Moraine
The meeting was called to order at 5:10 P.M. Location: Nordic Trails, Southern Kettle Moraine. Board President: Jeff Rahmlow presiding. Event:2006 WGA Geo-Picnic

Board Members present included:

Absent from meeting:

John Carvin
Ray Handley
Ruth Holliday

The meeting began with introductions of the BOD to attendees. Also, introducing Becky Waldmann as chairperson of the 2006 Picnic.

Old Business:

DNR Policy Implementation: Brian Jansen explained to those present that the DNR policy is now in effect. He also states that they(DNR) just want to know where the caches are. Brian also described the types of lands that this policy covers including, SNA’s, State Parks, State Forests, Wildlife Areas, and others. Brian also passed along information for a website at which more information can be found.

Website Switchover: Jeff Rahmlow encourages attendees to send an email to Jeremy Vechinski if they approve of the new website… Those in attendance shared their excitement over this excellent addition…

Treasurer’s Report: Brian Geoffrey presented the Treasurer’s Report. He stated that since the Spring Campout, the WGA has spent $73.33 on laminator and nametags for members. He also stated that the WGA took in approximately $700.00 at the Spring Campout-proceeds from registrations and Pancake Breakfast. This all totaled, gives the WGA account a current balance of $5293.79 at this time.

*During the report, Brain G. also mentions that he and Jeremy V. are working on implementing a “Cache Rescue Page” as well as a “Donations Page” to appear on the new WGA website at some time in the future.

Announcements:
• Make use of WGA donations box.
• Cache Retrieval.
• Name tags.

New Business:

Cache Rescue: Brian G. goes a little more into the workings of the Cache Rescue Program. He states that most of the caches in question are those belonging to inactive cachers. He sends a friendly email to the cache owner and is really just looking for some kind of response to begin with.

Introduction of New Wisconsin Approver: Jeff R. announces Jthorson as the new Wisconsin Approver.

Introduction of Attendees: Jeff R. states that there were 202 people registered for the Picnic. 212 people was the final count after adjustments for changed registrations including the addition of 33 walk-ups. Jeff goes on to introduce all those attending the Picnic…
