Hello everyone, hard to believe that we are halfway through this crazy race!

I wanted to take a minute and let everyone know how our intrepid racers are faring. Last fall 32 brave trackables ventured forth from Lapham Peak, not knowing what the future might hold. Fame, fortune, adventure?!….

Only one traveler has fallen victim to the dangers of the road:, we honor your sacrifice in making sure your fellow racers could escape WI before winter set in!

Of those that managed to hit the road, almost 25% (7/31) have been stuck in a cache or with a cacher for over 100 days! Personally, I can’t wait for better weather so my racer can be set free after 4 1/2 months in the hands of a cacher who keeps telling me they will drop it somewhere.

The remaining racers have spread far and wide; NJ, WA, France, Poland, Denmark, Norway, and Germany. Our current top three racers have all gone international and have at least 10000 miles on them.

3rd place: “Prez’ Pet” Now before you all call foul, he’s in 3rd and technically it’s Mrs. WA’s racer, but race officials will be watching closely! Isabella had the good fortune to hitch a ride to France and then promptly turn around and jump to Malaysia, very impressive and efficient.

2nd place: “Hope for the General Membership” RAZZLES’ holds the best chance for the membership to knock out the BOD’s current racing title streak. A racing circuit including stops in Belgium, Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and the United Kingdom make SPEED RACER a favorite to win if he can keep up this sort of schedule. Go Speed Racer, GO!!

1st place: “5K Leader” Another BOD spot in the top 3 and the current leader by almost 5000 miles, Val’s racer has visited such exotic locations as Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany & Thailand. seems like a very cool destination and particularly fitting for Val’s racer to have visited given her love of coins!

Good Luck Racers! I can’t wait to see what the next six months hold for everyone and how much the leaderboard gets shaken up in that time.

Nice update!  We don’t have our own trackables in the wild, but we follow the racers on occasion to see if we can help any of them move.  Now that the snow is disappearing and the days are getting longer, we hope to get out and about more, and we hope this is the case for others… and these travel bugs!
