So I hear about these “Go Fund Me” deals where people donate tons of money for different causes. I don’t really want to go to the extent of a Go Fund Me, but I was wondering if some WGA members would be willing to donate a few bucks to help out a future-fellow geocacher. I say future, because Jordan doesn’t have a GPSr to use. What Jordan does have, along with his twin brother, is Muscular Dystrophy. Jordan is wheel-chair bound, but he has an intense interest in geocaching. He has his own GC.com account, and he checks out all the caches in the area, planning for when he gets a receiver, but with two pre-teen boys with MD, there are a lot of other things that their family needs to spend their money on. I was hoping that some of you would help me raise about $150 to buy him a Magellan Explorist 310. If you would be willing to donate a couple bucks, please PM me. I’ll update the amount raised here in the forums.

04/20/2015 at 6:40 pm #2039044Thanks everyone! With your generous donations we now have enough money to purchase a new GPSr for Jordan. I can hardly wait to see the look on his face.

04/20/2015 at 7:10 pm #2039045GPSr is ordered. Should be in hand by the end of the week. Think I’ll go hide a few T1 caches.

That’s a nice idea. Actually, a lanyard is only $5 and could come in handy for someone with physical limitations.

04/21/2015 at 8:22 am #2039062A lanyard would be great, if someone can get me one by Friday. I’m expecting Jordan and his family to be at the Auburndale Varsity baseball game (they rarely miss a sporting event) and I was planning to surprise him there.
