Okay, I’m going to admit it. I have an addiction. There, I said it. I am addicted to souvenirs. I am a souvenir junkie! Now, having finally confessed, here is my question. I am completely confused by the geo road trip souvenirs this year. I was just reading about the July event souvenir. At first when I read the website I thought it said attend any event this summer after July 3 and you get a souvenir. Then an email came out and said attend an event only in July. Which would leave out the August Cache Bash in West Bend. Please be an enabler, and help a sister out.

06/10/2015 at 7:27 am #2040440Yes, it’s confusing. If you go to the Roadtrip page it just says some sort of souvenir for attending an event. The email says that you get a souvenir if you go to one in July. Then it says that you get a different one if you go to a CITO. Weird. So does this mean that you could earn more than one by going to several events? Confusing!

06/11/2015 at 7:22 am #2040460so I read the email again and clicked on the links. There is a really nice page set up that has boxes for each souvenir. It appears that souvenirs start at a certain date but all end their eligibility on Sept 2. They should just send that out.
06/11/2015 at 8:40 am #2040461I only have 3 caches left to find with 10+ favorite points. One is a night cache. I don’t want to drive home in the dark from KF so that is out. One is a multi that is strange, no real waypoints, just a look for three hills and figure out where you are. The third is a traditional that I almost went to find during a trip to town last week. Didn’t see it was on this list then. Glad I decided to just go home!

06/11/2015 at 9:31 am #2040462We don’t have any nearby with many favorite points, but we can get out and about enough to find something. The way I understood it, the different souvenirs start at different dates, but once they’re released, we have until September 2 to collect any or all of them. I don’t read all those blogs and emails, so maybe that was a good thing!
06/11/2015 at 10:52 am #2040470That was my interpretation, too, Birdin’, but the last GS newsletter had something about deadlines to submit event pages. The only deadline that should matter is two weeks before September 2. And the CITO souvenir looks like it’s combined with finding an EarthCache, which would be a lot better than trying to find a CITO event in July.
Maybe if I used an app I would know more about what is going on… 🙄

I don’t think you’ve done our replacement for the virtual at the Korean War Memorial in Plover yet: GC43GKR (13 FPs so far)
The new GC search function has a way to filter for favorite points, and you can set the radius. Most of our “close” unfound caches with over ten FPs involve… rock climbing…
06/11/2015 at 11:30 am #2040473I hate how the new search limits the radius to 30 miles. Not far enough in rural areas!
Also found this place: GCJR7G
