As the year winds down and the Holidays are upon us, we here at the WGA begin to prepare for the upcoming year. One of those tasks is to hold our annual election for Board of Directors. As the nomination period will begin with the ringing in of the New Year on January 1, 2016, it is the upcoming weeks before that that we ask the membership to start thinking of who may fit the bill to serve as a director on the WGA Board. There will be more information upcoming about requirements and what the job entails but we wanted to give everyone the heads up to begin tossing some names around amongst yourselves. Please do not post any names here, but once the nominations open, there will be plenty of time to make those names known to the election monitors who will in turn, contact each nominee to ask them if they are willing to serve.
There are five (5) seats that will be elected.
The Board Members whose terms are ending are Pete (labrat_wr), Rob (Averith), August (KungFuHippie), Steve (Commander USN), and Val (Sweetlife).

01/01/2016 at 12:59 pm #2045583The WGA is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Board of Directors election. Go to the elections page and nominate the WGA member(s) you would like to have serve on the Board.
Five positions on the Board of Directors are up for election this year.
These positions are currently held by the following individuals:

•August Hopp (Kungfuhippie)
•Valarie Butrymowicz (Sweetlife-Val)
•Peter Quella (labrat_wr)Chris Walker and Michael Harris will be assisting with the administration/execution of the election.
Some general notes about this phase of the Board of Directors election process:
•Individuals must receive two nominations to appear on the ballot when voting for the Board begins.
•Individuals receiving one nomination will be contacted via email to determine if they are interested in serving on the Board. If they are, their name will be placed on the elections page in a list of individuals who have one nomination and are looking for a second.
•Please do not nominate individuals who are not eligible.
•To serve on the Board, individuals must be WGA members and meet other eligibility requirements (including being at least 21 years of age) outlined in the WGA bylaws.
•You are not allowed to nominate yourself.
•Nominations will be accepted until January 31 at 11:59pm. At this time, voting for the Board of Directors positions will begin and continue until 11:59pm on February 14th.If you have any questions about this phase of the Board of Directors election process, post them in this forum topic.

01/10/2016 at 1:48 pm #2045965Now that the nominations are coming in and questions for the candidates are being posed, can there be a pinned topic right at the top of the elections forum that has a current list of who is officially nominated and running for BOD? Some candidates haven’t shared their profiles with the electorate yet, and an official listing by those in charge of the elections that can be updated as new people get into the race would be helpful to us.
I can’t seem to find this anywhere right now.
