“Finding” LostCheq as a BOD Nominee for 2016
LOG a Vote for LostCheq — Feb. 1-14, 2016 to interest you in LOGGING your VOTE, “Find” the following information about LostCheq as a candidate. Then decide to LOG your Vote as a representative for the Wisconsin Geocaching Association.
“FINDING HER BIO:” Linda Hobbs, aka LostCheq, grew up in Fond du Lac, WI (if you know Hobbs Woods Nature Area that’s the family farmland) High School- Horace Mann in N.Fond du Lac, and a grad of UW-Oshkosh with a BS in Physical, Health and Driver Education. Taught in Fall River (2) and Weyauwega (10), WI for 12 yrs. Changed careers to admin positions with the Nicolet and Chequamegon National Forests, in Eagle River (5), Hayward (3), and retired from Washburn (17) for 25 yrs. as a Federal employee. She currently lives in Washburn WI and you may have “found” many of her 100+ hides in the area, including 3 WGA State Park hides at Big Bay, Amnion and Pattison. Living in different areas of this beautiful state will be a benefit in understanding the state’s diverse opportunities for geocaching activities.
“FINDING HER ACTIVITIES AND VOLUNTEER INTERESTS:” She is a “Birchlegger” with 21 American Birkebeiners and 10 Korteloppet XC ski races and has been a volunteer for over 25 years for this Hayward WI event. She has also volunteered for the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival for over 20 years and retired from the staff after 11 years in a paid position. Geocaching has become a passion since retiring in 2011 and has provide a new outlet to “give back” through cache hides, hosting events, participating in WGA events (Hosted the 2015 Spring Campout CITO for invasive species and the CCC Campfire at the 2015 Fall Picnic) and set up an Intro to Geocaching this year. Being active and volunteering is in her blood and the opportunity to serve as a WGA board member furthers the opportunity to reach out to a broader community and meet new people in the process.
“FINDING HER CACHING” may not be difficult. She would like to be known for, “I’d rather be LOST Geocaching, than FOUND at Home!” quoted by me, LostCheq
“I hope to FIND your VOTE for me Feb. 1-14, 2016” Thank you for “finding” more about me, Linda Hobbs aka LostCheq
