Hello,
I hope everyone is having an awesome summer!
Back in April, I went on a vacation and found a few state parks in Door County and also a few down the side of Wisconsin down to Milwaukee. I have renewed the WGA authorization for the geocache website but the finder list doesn’t show it. I believe the actual count is at 11 or 12. I just wondered what happened.
Thanks!
Happy Caching!
08/17/2016 at 9:41 am #2051235Thats been the second time I’ve heard there being issues from someone with the SPS cache finds not exactly working. Something thats been added to my list to check into hopefully sometime soon. The other potential that might help is on your profile it seems you might not of manually entered your Geocaching name. I don’t know if that needs to be filled in too. (I didn’t created the SPS code and haven’t looked at it, so not sure how it works yet)

08/17/2016 at 2:07 pm #2051240My name doesn’t appear on the list since joining 6 months ago, nor when I changed my caching name in May. I have my GC authorization tokens renewed thru 2017.
Lately it seems stuck at 464 finders and 2,427 finds, so maybe the Groundspeak API query is maxed out??
08/17/2016 at 5:01 pm #2051241Wise deduction Brewce. There seems to be an issue with it timing out. I have all 47 but it stopped at 37 for me. I’m asking the webmasters to see if there is something they can do to fix it or parse out the results.

08/17/2016 at 8:57 pm #2051244I was wondering the same thing. I’ve been hitting the State Parks pretty hard the last couple weeks. By my count I’m up to 20, but the list still says 7.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
02/12/2017 at 8:39 pm #2053748Has anyone looked into this in recent months? BigJim60 still shows at 7 finds, and WalkingAdventure still shows 37. As for us, we completed the series in October, and even with our late logging, we are still stuck where we were for most of 2016.
Also, the electronic art completion badges that should show up on one’s profile as the biome finds are completed are not updating. This was the main “prize” for working on the WGASPS caches that the committee decided upon, and now, as far as I know, cachers aren’t receiving any new ones of these on their WGA profiles.
Could all of this be another casualty of the changes in the main Geocaching website, the changes that doomed the recent logs updates last spring? If so, would it be possible that some workaround could be developed in house so that WGA members can see their WGASPS achievements? (The FTP Stats updates quite quickly, and that’s just for a bunch of drivel… 😉 )
I have no skills in website development or maintenance, and I really appreciate the work of those who do, so I don’t know how much of a problem this is to fix or change. I yield to those with the skills and know-how, and I thank you advance for anything that can be done in this matter.
02/13/2017 at 5:58 am #2053764It is stuck. I have asked Brian and at least 1 other to look at it. If the smart people can’t figure it out then we should hide this. It is very unsettling. Due to the way I did the caches, I never earned 1 digital art.
Last I heard from TBC was this was a casualty of “Timing Out” and not getting through the list before we couldn’t check anymore. I had hoped it was an alphabetical thing and I would just ride it out and chalk it up to once again being at the end of the alphabet. NOw I’m more sad that everyone else isn’t updating.
🙁

02/14/2017 at 10:15 am #2053796I’ll try and take a look into it sometime soon and see what my conclusions come up with and see what we can do. But it will probably be a couple weeks before I can Dive into it and check it out.
