I am one half of an 8 year caching couple. My wife Aimee and I have found Geocaching a great addition to our vacations. We have seen many places that we probably wouldn’t have visited without this great sport.
Growing the sport of Geocaching in Wisconsin is one of the reason I would like to be on the Board of Directors.
I’m not terribly big into social media, but if anyone looks for me on Facebook, I’m probaby the only Brian Zubowski you will find. Feel free to ask me anything, I will answer everything honestly. Thanks to everyone for their support

01/09/2017 at 10:07 am #2053084So, outside of geocaching, I’m an electo-mechanical technician at a large factory. I am into coin collecting when the wife and budget allow. I like to be outside whenever possible, even when I’m not geocaching. Camping, fishing and just hanging around a campfire are just fine by me. Packers football, and Michigan State sports are about the only thing that will put me in front of the tv. Cooking is a passion of mine, and I will try almost anything once. I also like to get others to try new things when I cook. I’ve recently taken up long distance running, and have competed in two half marathons with the goal of running a full marathon in the next three years.

01/30/2017 at 7:38 pm #2053475As the nomination and campaign period for this years Board of Directors election comes to a close, I would like to make one final post. To start, I would like to thank the unknown members of the WGA who thought enough of me to nominate me for this election and second my nomination. I would also like to thank the members who took the time to come up with some very fun and very interesting questions for the candidates. And I would like to thank the other candidates for providing such great answers to the questions. I would like to wish good luck to all.
The reason I felt that my “getting to know me” post was the appropriate place for this post is because I can say more things about myself than I could at the start of this campaign. I have learned a lot about myself as a person. I have a mission statement that I didn’t have before, and I am trying every day to make sure that I “Keep Things in Perspective.” I know I have many traits that would be helpful to the BOD and the WGA in general. I realize that I fail a lot in life, but I learn from those failures.
I’ve also learned a lot about what geocaching means to me. I know that the events I have attended have built some great friendships and this inspires me to attend more events to build more of these friendships. I know that I search out some obscure caches because they can be the most challenging, bring out some of our deepest emotions, and show us some of the most beautiful natural and man made places in this world. I’ve learned that I would like to see geocaching grow and continue to be the challenging pastime that we all love.
Finally, I have discovered that I really want to serve on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Geocaching Association to continue the mission of growing our beloved sport in the state of Wisconsin. I want to develop connections with cachers throughout the state to bring events and other cachers to all reaches of our wonderful 65,556 square mile playground. I want to make sure that our geocaching adventure continues for years into the future.
Again, I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to nominate, question and vote for our new Board of Directors.
