Hello, my name is Dawn and I cache under the name of rawevil. I first started caching in July of 2013. I am originally from Milwaukee and relocated to Oshkosh area about 16 years ago. I have been on the BOD for the past two years. Both years have been a huge learning curve for me. And wow, have I learned a lot! And I am sure I am not the only one who can say that, however. Everything from whipping up pancake batter, learning the WGA website, helping to run the store during events, promoting events for both the WGA and its Members, helping the WDNR plan their event along with other WGA Members, coordinating a TV segment with Outdoor Wisconsin (that will be aired in a couple of weeks), the newsletter, and getting members involved in the organization by helping with events, writing articles for the newsletter, and designing logos. It has also been a lot about stepping out of my comfort zone and finding your voice. It’s been a lot of work, but most of all it’s been fun.
I have enjoyed meeting a lot of members and creating new friendships around the state and beyond. I think that my past experience as an officer on the board will help me to be a better BOD than in the past. I have had really good mentors and teachers along the way and I will always continue to do what is right for the entire membership as a whole.
I would like to thank the people that nominated me for another chance to serve on the WGA BOD. What an honor to be thought of so highly by my peers once again. I truly believe that our Members are our greatest asset. It’s because of your support that we are able to have and maintain a website, bring forth new merchandise, and new venues for all to enjoy in each of the 4 quadrants of our wonderful state.
