Those of us who have had the privilege of serving on the WGA Board of Directors can attest that sometimes it can be a real zoo. What would you say is your spirit animal, and what qualities do you think that animal brings that would benefit the WGA?

For anyone that doesn’t know me, I’m a squirrel.

My posts should in no way be considered as the views or opinions of the WGA or its Board of Directors. All posts made under my name are my personal opinions only.

Sorry but I don’t think I have a spirit animal.

My spirit animal would have to be a flying insect. Sometimes you are the bug and other times you are the windshield. I feel like the bug a lot of times. But since we are not talking insects, but rather animals, I think that most people who know me personally, know that I align most closely with the polar bear.

What qualities do you think that animal brings that would benefit the WGA?

A polar bear has many different qualities that would benefit the WGA. For instance, a polar bear has what appears to be white fur so it can blend into its surroundings. I think I do that well while blending into the geocaching community as a cacher rather than a BOD officer.

They also have black skin with a thick layer of fat underneath and their “white fur” is actually clear and hollow. With that being said, I think can absorb a lot of things from the outside world and not let that affect me with that thick skin.

Lastly, a polar bear needs to keep its fur clean. If it’s not clean, it can become matted, dirty, and wet with outside influences. If that happens, the insulating properties on their fur and skin become useless. I prefer clean fur and being useful to my fellow cachers.

I could keep going with how a mother polar bear will protect its young to the death against another polar bear but I think you get the point.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I also don’t think I have a spirit animal, sorry.

The views expressed here are that of myself only and do not necessarily represent that of the WGA board.

My spirit animal is the Bald Eagle. No, I’m not bald. The eagle soars high above all of the earth-bound animals. Likewise I try to rise above the petty, ego-centered fixations of the world to see myself, and the world, as we truly are. I avoid rumor and gossip and try to do what is right.

When the eagle spots a fish from on high, it dives to earth, pulling up at the last moment, clutching its prey. When I see something that needs to be done, I dive into it.

The eagle flies high in the sky, but also has strong legs to walk upon the earth. It lives high in mountains and swoops down to the earth to feed. Hence the eagle has great balance. I find balance in my life as well.

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

This sounds like a question on one of those 500 question psychological exams that are given to people before they are allowed to work at a nuclear power plant. At this time, I am not aware of any spirit animal in my presence, but when it happens you’ll be the first to know. LOL

I like to think of myself as a falcon. Capable of working with others as a team (humans) but also able to work on its own. It has the ability to see things in other perspectives that others might not be able to see.

I never have really thought much about what my spirit animal would be but if I had to pick one it would be a penguin. Fun loving, playful, waddles, can handle the cold (okay so that one isn’t true but that is why they invented layers), they are good at coordinating in groups and are social. They are also flightless much like I am, I’m the wife of superman and afraid of heights.

I would say my spirit animal is the owl.  His wisdom and I have been a follower of the WGA for some time.  I still keep in contact with people who have left and people who are still very connected.  Listening to everything and helping make decisions from a distance.
