So what do y’all use to drive to geocaches and/or their parking areas?

I used to use my Garmin Nuvi 205 with a GSAK macro loaded in there to help me navigate to caches .

These days, however, I use C:GEO linked to Google Maps. I load the .gpx file to C:GEO to store it offline. Then I select what cache I want to go to on C:GEO, which also gives me parking coordinates if available such as the start of a trail.

Being the nerd that I am, I also have my smart watch linked to Google Maps. When I start navigation, the directions are on my watch. It vibrates as I near an exit or turn. I don’t even have to mount my phone on the dashboard. I just set the navigation, put my phone down and off I go.

    Not perfect, but it works.

What about the rest of you?

I use the app Cachly to select a cache (and parking coordinates if available).  While the app is navigating to the cache as the crow files in a straight line, I select on the app “Navigate to cache using Google Maps” and Google Maps will then give me an on-road route, taking into consideration traffic for the most efficient route.  So I have two apps running, the Google Maps app (shown while driving) and the Cachly app.  When I arrive at the destination I shut down the Google Maps app and the Cachly app remains, showing me the walking directions to the cache.

For me it’s the phone with c:geo and google maps.  I also load my much-repaired Explorist XL.  Two opinions are better, and gloves-on works better with the XL, but the phone gets used to check on logs and hints…

I also use c:geo and Google maps.   A friend and I used cachetur on a longer road trip which was also helpful.

I use Waze which I have set as my default app in my c:geo caching app.

Oftentimes I manually set a waypoint for Parking to navigate to so Waze doesn’t try to route me some funky unreachable spot nearby (oppposite side of lake or freeway).

I use the geocaching app itself. it routes me to the wpt selected on the geocache and sends the road route to either apple maps or google, which ever I select.

I use the Cachly App for the iPhone and it ties into either Google Maps or Apple Maps.  I prefer the Google Maps for driving.  I also recently enabled Wifi in the car through OnStarr as sometimes in remote areas, my phone can’t get the signal but GPS always works, so I use the WiFi to gather data for offline caching.
