I am not usually a procrastinator, but in past years, I haven’t thought to reserve a hotel room for the West Bend Cache Ba$h until spring or even early summer. I happened to think of it today, so I booked my room. Prices were steeper than years past, and fewer rooms were available than when I had looked later other years. Perhaps West Bend has another big event that weekend. Not being a camper, I don’t know how fast campsites get reserved. But anyway, if you require accommodations of any sort for that weekend, you might want to look into that sooner rather than later.
If anything, look in the surrounding communities for better deals.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

My dad and I always sleep in the car for the weekend. Since we end up caching late into the night haven’t felt the need to get a hotel for us. Did that for Geowoodstock last year too. Have either parked at a trail head lot, gas station, or Walmart.

I booked a campsite at Pike Lake. It is about half full. I saw aome pretty good deals on motels in Hartford and Germantown.
