CITO season 1 ended on May 31, 2023, and season 2 goes from September 1st, 2023 through November 30th, 2023. Various cachers from around Wisconsin have hosted CITOs in the Spring to keep our parks, trails, and environment clean for all to use, and some are being hosted in the Fall.
Did you know the WGA provides grants for $50 each to help active WGA members host CITO events? The number of grants provided each year is set by the current WGA Board of Directors. The money for these grants comes from the sale of merchandise at our WGA events and donations to the WGA. Grants are given on a first come basis, and there are a few things you need to do to get the grant.
• You must be an active WGA member.
• You can only receive one grant per year.
• To make your request, email the Board of Directors at [email protected] as you begin planning the CITO event. Provide the name of the event, the GC#, the event location, and the event date.
• The money can be used to purchase event supplies (i.e., gloves, garbage bags, hand sanitizer, garbage pickers, etc.), snacks, water, prizes, fees, or other items reasonably needed to host the event.
• IMPORTANT – save all receipts. You must submit the receipts to [email protected] to receive up to $50 in reimbursement for your event related purchases. You can take a digital photo of receipts or save them as a pdf to submit them.
• To receive reimbursement, the receipts must be sent no later than two weeks after the date of the event. If you are late sending the receipts, you may still receive a reimbursement if funds are still available.
• If for any reason after requesting the grant, it turns out you will not need those funds for your event, please let the board know at the same email address so another member can request the grant.
