The board uses various Microsoft Office 365 core applications and products.  Examples can include Teams, OneDrive, Word, and Excel.  These applications are mostly in a Cloud environment (not locally stored on a computer) using a computer web browser and mobile applications.

What experience do you have with core applications and what is your comfort level using them?

I use Word and Excel on a daily basis for record keeping for my church as well as personal use. This includes thinges like creating spreadsheets, documents and mail merge. Teams is used multiple times a month. While I am most familiar with using them on my desk top Mac, once I have learned to navigate the log in procedures in the cloud to access the programs on the web, I don’t see that it will be much of a change. OneDrive is the only thing I am not familiar with, but hubby is and I’m happy to learn something new.

Great way to bring technology up because incoming Board Members need to be aware that the WGA functions do happen online.  The current board is using Teams, a pivot from Slack that we were using a few years ago, and as such, we are building a strong history for future board members to reference.  There is an expectation that Board Members check in on a regular basis so things can stay on task but it also means updating and communicating there as well.

Word and Excel are daily use for me.

My struggle is with Bitwarden, the overall password keeper.

At Parks & Recreation, I was responsible for the Registration, Reservation, and POS software. It included the software for in-office and online, for the credit card processing, and all reporting.  We started with RecWare until it was discontinued and the switch into RecTrac; both software went thru many updates and product changes over the years.  The credit card processing vendors also changed depending upon compatibility as well.

I am very familiar with Microsoft Office applications due to using them frequently at work, though I do not have as much experience with Excel. I use teams every day to both message with others as well as participate in meetings. Everything we do at work tends to be on the cloud as well so I am familiar with that. I am fairly good at learning new tools as well if I have a chance to play around with them for a bit.

I have experience using Word and Excel when I was working.  After I retired I haven’t really had a need to use them so I would have to do a little refresher to be up to date. I also used Slack when we put together the Yellowstone Trail Adventure Lab series. I assume Teams is quite similar. I am usually able to pick up on technology quite quickly if given a little instruction. I was usually the person that was trained first when we had new computer sytems installed and then I trained the other employees . I feel I wouldn’t have too much of problem in this area.
