It only happens every four years. It gives us 366 calendar days which means we all have one extra day to go geocaching.  Geocaching.com is celebrating with a souvenir — actually, make that two!  The first souvenir can only be earned on Leap Day itself — February 29 — by attending a geocaching event. The other souvenir can be earned all weekend long (February 27-29) by getting outside and finding a geocache.

So here it is:  This event is set for the 29th of February, at 29 Pines Lodge Bar, just off of Hwy. 29, at 6:29 pm, for 29+ minutes.

This should be a fun event to attend, as you can get both souvenirs, as well as visit with other cachers.  There will be a couple new “fun” caches published near this event, so no need to worry about getting your Leap Day cache before the event.  There are food & drinks served if you choose, though not necessary.  There just may be a few drawing prizes for those attending.
