We can’t be the only ones who dream of ‘clearing the map’. To that end we have put a lot of work into solving a lot of those really evil and esoteric puzzles and have managed to cracked a few. We thought it would be a great idea to get together with other cachers and have a puzzle-solving night.

Sometimes, all you need to solve a puzzle is a little nudge in the right direction. Sometimes you need a tug boat and a life preserver. We’d like to spend some time talking about the METHODS we have used to solve puzzles, from base-conversions to color-coding, to musical theory, to basic cryptography, and even, yes, the PAF option.

We believe there is nothing wrong with teamwork. We have seen many instances where two, or three, or even five people team up to locate a difficult cache, or work together to solve difficult puzzles. We think the game is more fun when puzzles are within reach. The idea of this get-together is to ask other cachers about how they solved certain puzzles, or maybe work together on puzzles no one in the group has solved yet. For this event, TEAMWORK IS REQUIRED! We’ll probably start out in the meeting room, and then break out into small groups, but we really don’t have an exact agenda.

We are not going to tell you how to play your game. There are no ‘rules’. Some people will want to come here and participate and have final coordinates given to them as part of a group effort. That’s OK with us. On the other hand, there will be people who don’t want the answers, they want to know how to go about solving it for themselves. That’s OK, too. We’ll make every effort to make sure Final Coordinates are not just given out openly unless you WANT them.

Please consider purchasing a beverage while you’re here. We had to guarantee a minimum of five drinks to be purchased during the meeting. We will happily cover that cost if we need to, but you’ll find most of their beverages yummy!
