The event we hosted last year seemed to work out well here, so we are repeating it for 2020. It is the UW-Madison winter break, so it tends to be a bit quieter on campus offering an opportunity to socialize at Union South. If you enter the doors near the coordinates, immediately to the right is a general area with tables and chairs. If you come in a different way, this is the area between the main staircase and a large fireplace. We will meet in that area and pull a few tables together.
Even with winter break, parking can be a challenge. UW Lot 17 is usually free on Saturday and Sunday as is UW Lot 45, but watch for any signs restricting parking (there is a home hockey game that evening which may affect some of the UW parking lots). You might find free or metered parking on the streets to the south of the event.
