To quote last years event (with a different date)…

Do you feel the need to trek out into the woods, for no good reason?  Are you sitting around thinking how much fun it is to bundle up and go on a long trip, through the woods?  Are you foolish enough to find satisfaction in doing something that requires alot of work, with little reward?  Well then have I got an event for you…

Meet me in the woods at Calumet County Park, February 2nd 2019.  Event time officially starts at 1 pm.  Event runs to at least 1:30 pm.  The event location is inaccessible by vehicle.  The road that it is located on will be barricaded off and is not plowed during the winter months.  And therein lies your challenge.

This cache is open to all cachers but it will be significantly more challenging than a typical Meet and Greet.  There are 3 places to park your geomobile, (see parking waypoints).

The event is being held at a campsite in Calumet County Park in the upper campground.  This area is not open to camping during the Winter months.  However, permission has been granted for this event.  If you can make it to the event you’ll be able to warm yourself by a campfire.  I’ll be up there early, trying to get a decent fire started, (assuming the weather warrants a fire).

Event will probably happen regardless of weather.  So if you’re like me and thinking “Yeah I’m still young and foolish enough to go traipsing around the woods in the middle of Winter for a meet and greet”, well then this event is for you. So strap on you snowshoes or cross country skis, and come on out.

And I’m hoping to get some new caches out for this cache as well.

Watch for more updates.

Basically same as last year, it seemed to work pretty well.  Hope to see you there.

P.S. if your viewing the actual cache page, and wondering about the background photo…the event takes place on Groundhog day.
