I just aquired a 2006 5th Annual Geo-Campout coin. I am ASSUMING that it is unactivated, since all of the rest of the 10 different coins which came with the package are unactivated. I have managed to retrieve codes for all of them, from different sites, except 2. I DIDN’T actually activate any of them however….just got the codes.
I can’t find where to get the code for this Wisconsin coin, so figured the very best place to ask that question was right here. 🙂 🙂 Can anyone lead me to the right site for the code?
I’m not familar with the exact rules here, so apologize if this is stretching them a bit. I’m only adding this because the coin directly applies to this organization. I didn’t buy any of these coins with the intention of selling them. However, since this is a few years old, represents this organization, & is possibly in collectors status by now….a second option would be that I’ll gladly sell it to any member here who has been looking for one.
In that case, I don’t need the code…..well, actually I probably do. I would want to make sure it actually IS unactivated before I did that. 99.9% chance it is however, since the others were. If anyone wants it, I’m not interested in actually making money from the deal….that’s not my intention. I think after shipping & everything, each of these coins cost me about $8 each. So that’s also what I’ll take for it….plus whatever the exact shipping is. I’ll check on that & let you know.
But the real reason for this post is to get the code, so I’d really appreciate it if someone can help me out.
Also, the other coin I couldn’t locate is actually one that turned up ALOT in searches…..but I just couldn’t find the activation code source….tried several of the more popular sites. It’s a “Triple Wisdom” coin, really neat with some Glow-In-The-Dark moons & letters.
I’ll be keeping it, but if anyone knows who handles the codes for this coin, please let me know that also. Thanks a mil in advance….David.
10/08/2009 at 3:09 am #1915033looks like the triple wisdom activation can be found at oakcoins. Hope that is correct.

10/08/2009 at 3:22 am #1915034Yeah, I just received confirmation frm the person who designed that coin that OakCoins was the source….but it doesn’t work. Evidently, all I can figure out is that an activation code HAS been retrieved on this coin, but was never used.
OakCoins does specify that if the code has already been retrieved, another CAN’T be. Personally, I feel this is unhandy & easily corrected through simple computing code. The way it is now, if the initial code is lost, it’s impossible to EVER activate the coin. Seems like it would be better to just make it so a second code COULD be retrieved, and then when actually activated, that first code would be rendered obsolete
But I have sent an e-mail to OakCoins to see if they can help me out. Hopefully they can, or I just have a pretty & useless paperweight.
So that one is solved I think…just waiting on the hoped-for help I need to get it activated. Hopefully someone here can help me on the Wisconsin coin. If it’s hosted at OakCoins also, then I already know what the deal is on it….same as the Triple Wisdom one…..a code has been previously retrieved, but never used.
But I’ll have to wait for someone to confirm where that coin is hosted at before I go further. Thanks.
10/08/2009 at 3:28 am #1915035Can you contact the coiner that you received the coin from? They may have documented the activation code IF they were the one’s that retrieved the code. If they were not the one’s, Yeah, you have a really nice watch fob. Hope things work out with Oakcoins. You would think they would understand the circumstances.

10/08/2009 at 4:38 am #1915036It was just a 3rd-party person who bought a big batch of coins & split them up for sale. So he wouldn’t know anything about the activation codes. I think he DID check them thru geocaching.com, because they are unactivated coins. But as far as going to the length to gather activation codes and/or sites…he didn’t.
But that’s okay. They were cheap & at least 1/2 of them are what I would consider VERY pretty coins. And 8 of them are definitely ready to be activated. Just have these 2 that I’m working on. Hopefully they will get all worked out.
If not, it was still a good transaction.
10/12/2009 at 6:29 pm #1915037After some digging, I managed to find the original activation code database for this coin on my old computer. If you send me the tracking number, I can get you the code!

Thx. 🙂
10/27/2009 at 6:21 am #1915039Would anyone else here happen to have this info?? I haven’t been able to contact LightningBugs after several replies & the PM I sent hasn’t been read yet. I bet LB has the info they said they had & I’d like to let them help me, since they went through the trouble of finding it.
But I’m also starting a large series of Ammo-Can caches within days, in which I was going to leave some unactivated coins as FTF prizes. But I want to make SURE the coins can actually be activated, referably by supplying the finder with the activation code with the coin.
So I really need to find out about this coin very soon. Thanks a million in advance for anyone who can help.
