The 2007 WGA Board of Directors election ended last night at midnight. The results have been verified, and I’m pleased to announce the following people will be serving on this year’s Board:

Jennifer Mode (Team LightningBugs)
Jeff Rahmlow (GeoPink)

Congratulations!

The top five candidates will be serving 2-year terms (2007-2009), with Jeff Rahmlow filling the Board opening created by the resignation of Bill Pulvermacher and serving a 1-year term. These members will join Brian Geoffrey, Jeffrey Little, and Becky Waldmann to form this year’s Board. The following Board members did not run for re-election this year: John Carvin, Ray Handley, and Ruth Holliday.

A hearty round of thanks is definitely in order:

Thanks to all the great folks who stepped forward and threw their hat into the ring for this election. It is truly amazing and I think bodes well for the future of the WGA that we had 14 candidates willing to serve in a leadership role in the organization. All the candidates had excellent ideas and would have made outstanding Board members… I hope those who were not successful this time around will remain active members in the WGA and consider running again in the future.

Thanks to the 145 members who cast 728 votes in this election. I know a lot of people had difficulty deciding who to give their 6 votes to, but thanks for taking the election seriously and giving careful consideration and thought to who you voted for. Participation was up almost 50% from last year, another encouraging sign for the future of the organization.

Thanks to Ray Handley (Trudy & the beast) and Ruth Holliday (bnb) who helped me virtually man the polls and ensure that voting went smoothly.

The number of votes each candidate received is shown, along with the percentage of all the votes cast (in parenthesis) and the percentage of members voting who selected that candidate (in square brackets). The second percentage shows that everyone elected to the Board received votes from nearly a majority of those voting.
