      I’m going to start this off in the Announcements in order to catch all the people who do not frequent the geocoin forum….(and you know who you are 😛 )

      We are soliciting design ideas from our very talented forum community – very similar to the t-shirt design thing we just did. I will close this part of it on May 24th, at which point I will start a poll to have everyone vote on their favorite. The winner will be announced on June 1st and we really hope (but can’t yet guarantee) to have the coins available for distribution at the picnic in August.

      We will run the sale of them like we did the 2005 coin: Online sales for a certain time, then the final order sent to the coin maker once we have those numbers. I anticipate that everything will be set when we pull that trigger and hopefully there will be a short turnaround time. And they will of course be trackable.

        I vote for either a Badger (okay, I had to say it!) or a Gauntlet! Okay, okay, all kidding aside; a woodland scene with the rivers/rapids/falls would be my suggestion.

          The coin vote is on!

          There was a delay in getting it started. Instead of just creating a poll, Jeremy has put together a new referendum module to use for things like this. Click on “Referendums” in the menu bar on the left to find it.

          A couple people found it and voted before the final modifications were made and those votes were lost in the process. IF YOU HAVE VOTED PRIOR TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, please click there again and double check. If you have a vote being counted, your choice will appear in red. If your vote was erased, you will just be able to click on your choice and vote again.

          Voting will remain open for one week.

            Wow, only a week to submit a vote. I think some of the regular daily visitors here may be assuming that most members visit this daily. I can attest that from my experience that is not the case. Folks may want to keep this in mind for further issues. If you really want input and feedback then this is much to short of a turn around. In my opinion.

                Thanks for the feedback, folks. I’m sorry you didn’t get a chance to vote. The Board is working on getting email announcements and/or a newsletter going to keep all of our membership informed of what’s going on with geocaching in WI.
