WANTED: 2009 WGA Geo-Campout T-shirt Logo Ideas
We are going to be offering Geo-Campout t-shirts, hoodie sweatshirts and crew sweatshirts for sale again this year and we are looking for ideas as to what we can print on the front of them.
Win a free t-shirt!
We will be awarding one free t-shirt and one 2008 Wisconsin (“cow”) geocoin to the person submitting the winning design. This person will also be specially recognized at the campout membership meeting and have the eternal gratitude of the Board of Directors. The winning design will be chosen by the Campout Committee from all of the submissions.
With the vendor we have chosen to print the shirts we can have up to 5 colors in the logo plus the color of the shirt itself. The vendor has also agreed to work with us on finalizing the artwork, so even a rough sketch of your ideas would work.
Deadline for submissions: April 13th, 2009 at 11:59 PM
The winner will be announced shortly after the deadline.
You must include the following information somewhere in your logo design:
The location of the campout: High Cliff State Park
The campout dates: May 15th ~ May 17th, 2009
The shelter coordinates: N44° 09.899′ W088° 17.158′You can e-mail submissions or questions to jeremy
wi-geocaching com or send me a private message. You can also post your submissions for all to see right here in this forum topic. Good luck to all!
03/30/2009 at 9:01 pm #1904499Hi I will not be able to attend the geo-camp out, but since I am laid off, coming up with a design gave me something to do in between looking for a job.1 I hope you like it!
Jerrys dad04/02/2009 at 4:34 pm #1904500I would like to suggest that we consider using the new logo along with the campout stats on this years shirts.
Mrs. TE04/07/2009 at 2:56 am #1904501I’m not an artist but

😯 Hey! I resemble that remark!
Good thing the knees are now fixed. Now, where’s the next cliff?

You stole my idea! 🙂 I thought of a “walking off a cliff” shirt logo design based on this Groundspeak shirt a while back… but I haven’t had time to put pen to paper on it (plus it would look like a kindergartner did it with jumbo crayons). If someone has the artistic talent to put such a design together, I think it would be pretty cool.
Note that we’ve received 5 designs so far. All are “shirt worthy”, but many are not “shirt ready”… i.e. some cleanup will have to be done to them. So don’t be afraid to submit just a rough sketch if you think you have a good idea.
Someone also asked about including the new WGA logo in the shirt design. While it is not a requirement, it definitely would not hurt your odds if you did. So far, 3 of 5 designs have included the logo.
04/08/2009 at 2:46 am #1904504I know…. this is pretty lame.
What can I say… I’m an engineer.
04/08/2009 at 3:51 pm #1904505I see that a few people wanted a person walking off a cliff and Jeremy asked if somebody could do it, so here is my interpretation while still trying to keep something in it to do with camping also. It’s kind of sketchy but I can clean it up if needed!
04/08/2009 at 3:58 pm #1904506Don’t forget — if you want to make me happy — a marshmallow must be somewhere on the shirt!
😀
Bec04/08/2009 at 4:35 pm #1904507Think of the state as being a giant marshmellow with the design on it and then you should love the design! I can modify / add things to the design but you will only be able to put so much in before it becomes too busy! If the committee picks the design I can modify it any way they want. I own a printing business and have the software to design logos for t-shirts and other specialty / promotional items.
04/08/2009 at 4:39 pm #1904508I think the person should already be over the cliff. 😆 Just my opinion.
04/08/2009 at 5:53 pm #1904509Uh oh. Here we go again. Why not cut straight to the finish line and ask the Washington State Geocaching Association if we can use one of their T-shirt designs? 😀

OK I couldn’t pass it up, I’m designing a logo for a computer repair business, but all I could think about was that marshmallow, so here is a quick design just to make you happy!
