02/17/2009 at 8:23 pm #1902413Are there any good camping areas nearby?

Yes, there are a couple campgrounds in the area. Hopefully we can get an accomodation list together for you soon. (I’m leaving for vacation in a couple hours, but if nobody gets back to you, I’ll make you a list when I return.) 🙂
02/17/2009 at 9:07 pm #1902415Last year we were not to thrilled with the Americinn and the Super 8 has really bad reviews. We really liked the Clairemont, but that is getting torn down. I also know the owners of the Clairemont are taking over the Americinn but I dont know if they will have it rehabbed for the fall.
so what is the next decent/inexpensive hotel in the area?

Here is two of them:
Timber Trail – 262.338.8561
Lake Lenwood 262.334.133502/18/2009 at 10:03 pm #1902417@TyeDyeSkyGuy wrote:

Pike Lake State park has camping. I’m thinking that it might be about ten miles.
02/19/2009 at 3:20 pm #1902418You could also camp at Mauthe Lake. It is roughly 17 miles North of West Bend.
02/21/2009 at 4:00 am #1902419what hotels are good. I looked at alot of reviews and people dont say any are good. 🙁
02/21/2009 at 4:01 pm #1902420Lake Lenwood has it’s own private lake and beach, a nice place, they DO NOT put up with any serious partying. Timber Trails has a pool and whirlpool, hard core partying going on there, 😯 they even have their own bar on site. There is also Lazy Days Campground, I have never stayed there, private beach.
Hotels – you may want to try Hampton Inn – new. Also Country Inn and Suites is right in the middle of the action. Germantown is also close and they have a few hotels there including another Country Inn. We also have a hotel in Jackson, but it just recently changed names so you could Google it!
We amped up the finds this year based on feedback from this forum and what people wanted hoping to please! 😀 Just really hoping for nice weather like last year, I think that makes the event sometimes, but we roll rain or shine!
Goodie bags will have lots of fun stuff including possible Pathtag for each team, maybe even one for each person – still working on that.
Anyways looking forward to seeing everyone.
02/21/2009 at 4:17 pm #1902421If I can talk my way out of the wedding I will be there with one of my Kayaks! My hope is that the water caches will only be at one or two locations…taking the craft on and off the car takes quite a bit of time and time is short if I want to hit all the caches….which I do.
