The 696 votes from 173 members that were cast in the 2010 WGA Board of Directors election, which ended on Sunday (February 14), have been counted and certified. The following individuals have been elected to the Board:

    Justin Korpal (K0rpl)
    David Secondino (Team Deejay)
    Peter Quella (labrat_wr)
    Shane Heule (-cheeto-)
    Brian Kling (Team Black-Cat)

    Congratulations!

    Election Details

These individuals will be serving two year Board terms from now until February 2012. They join current Board members Ralph Edwards, Gwyn Calvetti, Renee A. Vanselow-Tapp, and Seth Rubey to form the 2010 WGA Board.

Note that per our bylaws, WGA officers (President, Vice-President, etc.) are not directly elected and instead are Board members that are selected and confirmed by the Board itself. Selection of officers should occur during the BOD meeting at the end of February.

The WGA would like to thank all the candidates who decided to run for the Board this year. All of the candidates were well qualified to serve on the Board and all would have done a great job and been an asset to the organization if elected. They all invested significant time and effort into running by explaining their viewpoints, describing their background, and answering questions in the Candidates Corner forum so that members could make an informed decision when it came time to vote.

Also, thanks to all the WGA members who spent time learning about the candidates, carefully considering the choices, and casting their votes. The involvement of members in this leadership selection process is crucial to the long-term success of the organization.

      Woo Hoo!

Thanks to everybody who threw their hat into the ring.

The process of answering all of those doggone questions is truly difficult and time consuming.

Good luck to our newly minted BOD members.

Congratulations to all the winners. Very much looking forward to having you aboard in the coming year. What a great field of new board members!

And to the find folks who did not make the cut in terms on number votes received. Please remember, that this year, like the last several years, we have been very lucky to have more qualified people running than there were slots open, so some very fine people did not get voted on this year. Please keep your mind open and stay active and hopefully we can get you to run again next year. We have had some excellent people fail to win by a few votes in past years, only to be elected to the board in subsequent years when they ran again. So, be persistent, run again next year, and maybe in the mean time you can work on WGA projects and WGA committees to demonstrate to the voters that you are worth their vote.

Trudy & I are pleased with the interest in serving. Thank you to all those who have served, have offered to serve, or are presently serving on the WGA BOD. Your commitment is vital to the WGA. We hope that those who were not elected, will consider running in 2011. Congratulations to our new members of the board.
