This motion has just been passed by the Board (our shortest motion ever):
The 2011 WGA campout will be held May 20 – 22, 2011 at Hartman Creek State Park.
10/13/2010 at 1:54 pm #1937300Cool! Our Summer Home has often been our Spring Home, too. Might have to be in 2011 now. 😀
So nice to be thinking of spring and May these days as we get colder and lose more daylight. 🙁10/19/2010 at 12:51 am #1937301Yahoo! Great to hear the location. Good choice! How many days til’ Spring?

11/21/2010 at 1:23 am #1937309Seeing as I’m mostly a lurker around here, are there any other details about this campout, or are they “to come”?
11/21/2010 at 2:18 am #1937311the request for committee members has gone out (see the announcement sticky). once this committee is formed, plans can be developed.

11/21/2010 at 1:15 pm #1937312Darn college graduations… we have 4 this May in 3 different places… Daughter, son-in-law, nephew and son’s girlfriend…. so will have to miss the campout again. Pretty soon they should all have graduated and we can have a free weekend in May.

11/23/2010 at 9:02 am #1937315Looks like we will make it. Is this children friendly usually? we have what will be a 2 year old by the time the camp out comes along. We dont know any of you in person yet, so it would be a nice ice breaker before the August mega event too. Is it Spring yet????

Yep, very kid friendly and getting more so. Zumette will be there, having just turned 2 as well. I expect that we will have a bunch of kids of all ages there.
Also, I should mention that last year, Cheeto and family made a concerted effort at each of our events to have things at the event of interest to families. I would expect this trend to continue.

Thats great to hear. We are looking forward to it. Thanks for all the info and we look forward to seeing more details as the committee gets rolling and gets this off the ground.
12/11/2010 at 8:38 pm #1937319I went and made reservations to swipe up one of the last available electric sites, after asking in my first post. Even after browsing the last campout info, I realize that most of the campers for the campout will be in the “group campground”.
So, I’ll be there. Just a short hike/bike away. 😀
