My Wife, Mother of my child is not a fan of geocaching – or driving 2 hours Mothers Day Weekend to geocache – That being said I have never been to a campout so this might be worth the week in the dog house or working really hard the weeks leading up to it… We will see but I am leaning towards a yes!
As one who has been married a few more years than you, I would suggest honoring the mother of your child, aka your wife – rather than geocaching for the weekend. There will be other caching events that do not fall on Mother’s Day!

Thank you for your Kind words of wisdom – but I do believe a solid marriage is built on Compromise? And isn’t there a nice outlet mall just 4 miles from the campground? I think there can be plenty of comprising between the two 🙂 BTW my campsites for the campers are booked 🙂 See you in May!!!
02/10/2014 at 1:32 am #1973098Little Gamer and I will be in for sure. I’m not sure if Elder Gamer will be in or not. She has a thing for sleeping on the ground.
02/18/2014 at 2:52 pm #1973099Mirror Lake is a beautiful park. Lots of nice trails, close to the Dells for other things to do, and we’re looking forward to attending. Mother’s Day is Sunday, and a ton of nice restaurants available nearby.

That is what hotels are for. Right!

02/18/2014 at 8:48 pm #1973101Today’s temps are in the 40’s and camping doesn’t seem like it’s too far away. Hooray!

02/21/2014 at 8:48 pm #1973102Hm…. This might be a necessary trip. Since I’m the mom, I get to choose what I want to do for Mother’s Day, right? My 4-year-old would be in tow. She’s never been camping. Hopefully she likes sleeping on the ground!
03/04/2014 at 3:26 am #1973103Great to see the change in the weekend. This is only the second camp out since their start that is not in conflict with the amateur radio Hamvention in Dayton Ohio.
The last time they were on different dates I broke my wrist. I had the first two caches in Mirror Lake but they kept disappearing.Who do I contact to help out? I have a camp site at the private campground next to Mirror Lake so I could be up there before the event.

Thank you so much for volunteering LeeLansinger! We really appreciate it! We can put you on the campout committee if you’d like to help with the planning. Or if you’d just like to help on the day that would be appreciated too. Feel free to PM me or any other board member.

Very soon, the cache page is mostly done, just a little tweaking left. It should be out in a couple of days. We’ll be setting up the store for camping reservations shortly too.

05/06/2014 at 10:05 am #1973109At Mirror Lake on Saturday:
Make sure you stop by the shelter around 12:30.
We’ll be handing out a couple of scoops of ice cream to everyone in attendance in celebration of Mother’s Day! 2 scoops, caching and the WGA…can it get much better?
