Hello, I’m WalkingAdventure from Neenah, WI. I joined the WGA after going to the 2009 Spring Campout at High Cliff State Park where before that I had no idea there was an association of cachers in the state.

My geocaching life began almost 10 years ago, back in 2005 and now I have found a little over 7000 caches but more importantly I have hidden 101 caches, including events and adopted caches.

3 or so years ago, I was asked by Team Black Cat to take over the Social Media Coordinator volunteer position for the WGA and began posting several times a week and we’ve built up what you now see on the WGA Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/Wisconsin.Geocaching.Association ).

2013 saw me run for the WGA Board of Directors and I was very excited to be elected to the position. Whenever I volunteer for something, I throw myself into it whole heartedly and I have enjoyed getting to travel the state and meet you all. It is the by-laws for the WGA that state officers for the BOD are elected from among the 9 Directors and again, I was humbled that they all nominated and approved me for President of the WGA for the 2014 year.

My most proud memories of being on the BOD has been the creation of the WGA State Park Series of caches. Years before, much work had been done to start a series similar to this but our partners from the WDNR could not commit to helping then. I took over the main responsibilities for making contact with the WDNR and organizing the Trail Bosses and caches, of course with lots of help from all of you members. It’s been exciting to see the popularity of the the series where we have now received over 3000 Found It! logs.

I really enjoy trying to set up new events and activities for the WGA events. Like hiding caches, hosting events are done solely for those that come to them and I like to make sure everyone has a great time.

Being on the Board of Directors has caused me to step out of my comfort zone and approach new people and try things I would never had done on my own and I look forward to you the members, posting question for all of the candidates to answer. We are very lucky to have such a strong Association where every member has so much to offer. All candidates are very strong and I know it will not be easy for me to cast my vote.

Thanks to all that have taken the time to read all of the questions, answers and profiles of the candidates. There are many great people to choose from and I hope choosing 4 voted is difficult for you since we all have great qualities.

Hi Chris. We meet yesterday at the Meade Meet & Greet. Got your e-mail today about becoming a member. Got the password and replied to log-in OK. Needed the https://wi-geocaching.com; just wi-geocaching.com would NOT work. Avatar works here, but not on https:wi-geocaching.com, and I am still listed as OUT OF STATE? Have WI as state. See image of what I get below? I uploaded the avatar I use for http://www.geocaching.com/, that works here, but for some reason not on the WGA site…

I changed your membership to WGA Member.
Depending on which web browser you are using, http:// may or may not be required. Some browsers may “assume” http:/www if you just put in the last part of the web URL.
https is NOT required. just use httpd.
      Your avatar looks fine.
