Figured I’d start a thread to discuss all things Geo-camping 2016, as well as pose a few questions, seeing it’s less than 3 weeks away and this will be my first time attending.
1. When will the reservations link be up for camping, and will registering on this site reserve a spot? If not, is it then a mad dash to get there and get a spot?
2. What is the cost to reserve a spot?
3. Is a state park vehicle pass required? (I will have one because I have the conservation patron license, but I’m asking for the benefit of others)
4. What is the night caching event? Any description will work.
5. When it shows “grills open for lunch” and “dinner”, is it BYOM (Bring y’er own meat)?
6. Is Saturday breakfast fend for yourself?
7. Is it safe to assume there will be WGA merchandise available for purchase (and BTW, is it that there no option to browse/purchase right from the website for pick-up at the event)?
That’s all I can think of for now, but it’s a good start…

1. When will the reservations link be up for camping, and will registering on this site reserve a spot? If not, is it then a mad dash to get there and get a spot?
Reservation link (WGA Store) should be opening very soon. This will be for merchandise and for camping at the GROUP CAMP site/s. There is not usually a lack of space. IF however you plan to have an individual site, you can reserve that on your own at http://www.reserveamerica.com Please note that the Group Site is TENT ONLY camping, no trailers/campers.
2. What is the cost to reserve a spot?
Group camp participation should be $8-$10 per tent/night
3. Is a state park vehicle pass required? (I will have one because I have the conservation patron license, but I’m asking for the benefit of others)
I believe that yes, a state park vehicle pass is required. you can purchase an annual pass or a day pass if only there on Saturday
4. What is the night caching event? Any description will work.
Night caches are non-standard, usually illuminated caches that are only available for the night caching event. cache creators use things like glo-sticks, UV paint, glow-in-the-dark applique, flood lights, motion sensors, etc to create a cache to be found along a predetermined trail. Always a good time.
5. When it shows “grills open for lunch” and “dinner”, is it BYOM (Bring y’er own meat)?
yes, BYOM
6. Is Saturday breakfast fend for yourself?
Saturday breakfast is on your own
7. Is it safe to assume there will be WGA merchandise available for purchase (and BTW, is it that there no option to browse/purchase right from the website for pick-up at the event)?
merchandise will be available to order from the store and will be available for purchase on Saturday at the event.

The store will open by midweek, this week. We are waiting for a design to return from a vendor for a new shirt. Everything on the website will be for pickup ONLY at the campout unless some special arrangements can be made. We are a creative bunch, we can usually come up with a plan.Following the signals from space.

04/26/2016 at 11:19 pm #2049075THE WGA STORE IS NOW UP AND FUNCTIONING.
Got my spot reserved for group camping. Now I guess I’ll just have to wait for the event to get a tee shirt.
