25 NEW caches in Rusk County published tonight. Looks like they have been put out by Rusk County. The user web page taked you to the Rusk County Home Page. A lot of FTF’s for someone!
These caches are part of a contest for their fall colors festival, known as Leaf It to Rusk County. You can get the details at http://www.leafittoruskcounty.com. Stop by the visitors center in Ladysmith and get a contest card. (One of the caches is at the visitors center, but I don’t remember which one).
Yes, the 25 new caches are part of a fall geocache contest. We had them published on geocaching.com but they are a little sticky about contests and including contest language in the description. We put together our own website that details the contest http://www.ruskcounty.org/visitorsinfo/fallgeocache.asp. A cache list, and entry form can be found on this site.
A couple words of caution, while we do geocache, we are new to doing a contest. If you like to bushwack or work hard to find caches-this contest may not be fore you. They aren’t in plain site, but they are all relatively quick finds. Some have a little walk, but none to difficult. They all hopefully take you to neat little places in this area. The weather and conditions should produce great fall colors this year, so use this as a reason to come see them. If this contest goes well we plan to do more, and we’ve already been kicking around an “Extreme Geocache” event.
Any feedback is appreciated.
