I’ve enjoyed finding about 485 caches in the past year. And it’s still fun!

We do about 100 unique finds per year. It’s fairly consistent in any 12 month period. But we intro lots of rookies to caching through school, youth groups, and camps. And I’ve managed the creation of 125 travel bugs since Sept / Oct of 2007, and had a hand in the launching and tracking of most of them. So we don’t get a lot of our own finds, but we sure have a lot of fun being involved with GeoCaching with lots of other people.

WE just came up on our 5 year geocaching anniversary on 10-10 and have logged to date: 15,715. We’ve averaged 3143 per year and 8.0 per day.

683 in the last 12 months. We’ve slowed down a lot since finding #1000 back in August. Concentrating more now on hides that sound interesting and scenic. Went to Spring Green area last weekend and only did 3, but one was one the best cemetery hide to date. Hyde cemetery had a church on the National Register of Historic places and the family plot ofthe descedants of the nearby Hyde Mill virtual. Today we’re going to Lapham Peak for 8 caches that we skipped at the the WGA Picnic for better fall color. We also have some unique hides we’re working on and a few to get out and do somemaintenance on before winter. Events have also become more of a focus for us.

I’ve found 408 caches this past year with my husband and our boys. I’ve taken a “break” the past few months to have a baby. It would be nice to get back on the trails again soon.

In the last 12 months we have found 515 geocaches, but 463 of them were in the last 6 months.

What a varied group we all are! 200 or 3000 or none or gazillion . . . Some like micros some like ammo cans. Some like cemeteries, some like long hikes. Some go alone, others team cache. Some stay close to home, others go out of state or out of the country.

Urban caches, rural caches, travel bugs, geocoins, event caches, temporary caches, one a day, a hundred a day, summer, winter, ticks, skeets, wet feet, sunburn, Garmin, Magellan, Milwaukee, Hayward, Waukesha, Eagle River, Green Bay, LaCrosse, Janesville, Portage, Stevens Point, Wausau, Appleton, Eau Clarie, pine trees, skirt lifters, puzzles (pro and con), smilies, DNF, TFTC, TNLNSL, CITO…

      Are we having fun yet?!!!

I wouldn’t have a clue. I tend to forget to log them. However, it certainly isn’t very many since I don’t have much time for geocaching anymore. In another year I’ll only have one child’s activities to be involved in so hopefully my time in the woods will be increased.
