I placed a puzzle cache a few days ago that, within the next few hours, it will have been 48 hours without a First-to-finder.
I don’t know if I should feel honored or insulted..

Maybe the cachers in wood county are just lazy. 8)

I had a FTF on January 10th on a cache that was published on January 1st, be patient.

well..can’t get to gc to check your id so it’ll have to wait a bit yet…

    #1920109

I wouldn’t worry! Depending how creative you were, it might take some time to solve the puzzle.

I suppose timing doesn’t help much. Had it been around for the weekend, I bet it might have been found already.
I hid it on Saturday morning, submitted early Saturday evening. It wasn’t published until Sunday well after dark.

I spent over a day working out the puzzle details, another half a day scouting the area. I’m just a little anxious, thats all.

Maybe if it were summer time it would be a completely different story.

    It’s in the cedar tree.
    😛

Even if it were in a tree, thats not a nice thing to blurt out when a puzzle cache (or any cache) is involved. 🙁

I’ll include my own hints in the little hint box myself if I feel they’re needed.
    Thanks.

I suppose I might as well go ahead and archive the listing, right?

    #1920115

Disabled listing. Glad the 2 days spent creating a cache didnt go to waste. 🙁

I’ll go out there tomorrow and remove the cache container.

    Dude,

    Just be patient.

I’ve had caches not get found for over a week. There’s one of mine (GC1YZGG) that was not found for three weeks after placement, I think and still has that one find on it since placement and that was in the fall.

In the winter, geocaching activity is way down, even for winter friendly caches. So what if no one finds it right away. Eventually they will.

HeloDood, lighten up. Every post that I’ve seen from you so far will do nothing to make you friends in the WGA.

Oh? And you looked at all of them? I looked at my own post history and I honestly can’t say I see where you’re coming from. Well, that is up until where I got mad and disabled a listing which I worked hard to create.
If you want me out to be a bad guy, so be it.

Again your opening up your mouth about things your not informed about and don’t understand. And BTW I read every post, every day and there are many others who do the same. My best suggestion to you is turn off you computer and come back in a week when your head is on right.

Why would you archive a listing because a hint was posted to forums unassociated with your cache page?

Do you believe that a high percentage of your intended caching “audience” for that cache even read these forums? Don’t think so.

While it is considered bad form to post hints to caches anywhere online it’s not the end of the world.

If you think this is bad, wait until new (or even veteran) cachers post hints directly to your caches. As a cache owner you will need to be prepared for this situation and how to handle it politely. I guarantee you it will happen.

I would not worry about a post on these forums at all. Like I said, most won’t even know this forum thread exists…

There is a rule about cache permanence. If you publish a cache, you intend to keep it going. Rather than archive it why not just leave it active and see what the first few logs look like??
