    Oh come on!
It wasn’t my intention to post a hint or give away the surprise. It was a joke. The joke being, for those who might not have gotten it, is that it’s in a cemetary in Wisconsin, so there is a 90% probability that it is in a cedar tree.

What you mean 90% of cemetery caches are in cedar trees? Great I guess I can stop doing cemetery caches now.

    #1920123

… and if marc hid it, there’s a 100% chance that it’s a bison tube with camoed tape and it’s hung using some metal wire in that cedar tree.

I was in no way implying that your post was a hint to the cache in question. (I did get the joke..) I was more or less letting heliodood know that hints will happen. It’s much more fun when they happen on the cache page or in the picture gallery of the cache page.

75% of all my WSQ cache finds have been in cedar trees so I don’t know that this would be a spoiler. In fact, maybe it’s just the opposite and it’s a Red Herring. If it’s truly a spoiler, then I’d suggest contacting the poster and ask them to edit the post. I know I’ve been asked to change some “Found / DNF” logs to remove what the CO thought were spoilers. I’ve always edited logs if requested.

I looked at the cache and it involves music, which I’m horrible at, so it appears to require some specialized knowledge which limits the audience. It’s also located in central WI which we all know has a smaller cache audience. I live in small town central WI but work in the Fox Valley. Same cache style here vs. there means huge difference. A P&G here might get 2 visits a month where in the Fox Valley could have 10 – 20 times more for the same time period.

It’s a WSQ meaning it’s not 24×7, it’s winter making the days much shorter and prevents many people from caching during the week, it’s winter which limits the number of people that cache. Obviously there are a number of elements in play.

If nobody posts any logs (found, note, etc.) you can always add additional clues. I’ll admit it’s exciting to wait for that first “FOUND” email, but it’s also exciting to see that people are a little stumped.

There are many veterans in the Forum providing you some great advice. Be patient, let things work themselves out, it’ll turn out OK.

    90%, 75%…

Of the cemetery caches I’ve found (not many, Im still kinda new)
I’ve found 25% of them in a cedar tree, 75% that were NOT in a cedar tree.

Having been on the receiving end of having hides spoiled in these forums, I can empathize with the concern. However, it’s clearly obvious TBC was joking with you which, around here, is a way of trying to make you feel welcome. Cedar trees really are an inside joke. It’s like saying a new Appleton cache is in a pine tree.

So, I would encourage you to look at those comments in that light, and you will also need to grow thicker skin if you are going to be a cache owner.

At least on a cache page the CO can ask a person to edit their logs, or encrypt said log. In the worst case scenario, and as a last resort, a CO reserves the right to delete a log.

I made this thread because I had a cache last 48 hours without a FTF.
I don’t know if thats the norm or not. Based on what I’ve seen so far, is that a fresh cache doesn’t last more than a few hours.
For me, in a way, it was an HONOR that a fresh cache would last so long, I suppose. While I doubt my puzzle would stump many people (I made it kid friendly for a reason), I expected it to at least intimidate a few at first glance. I

In no way was I getting impatient or upset I didn’t have a FTF’er.

But man, this thread sure went down hill. Im the bad guy now.
If I’m lucky I wont be ‘shunned’ by the community here. hmm.

There is recourse on our forums as well. We do have moderators if there is a specific concern to be addressed.

At least now I’ve got 2 watchers on the listing that I didn’t have before.
Wouldn’t anyone find that odd considering its a brand new cache with zero finders?
Negative publicity is still publicity, so I guess I can’t complain there. 8)

Who are the moderators? I can’t find any list, and I’ve yet to see a user with “forum moderator” next to their name.
    I don’t see a button where I can flag a thread to get a moderator’s attention.

If a moderator sees this post, I request that this thread is deleted 100% in it’s entirety.

Most of the threads here also allow the poster to edit their post just like on geocaching.com. If you think something needs to be edited just ask.

Now – talking about thick skin. Have a look at the thread stealers thread around the end of Oct beginning of Nov. A number of people had “fun” at my expense, but I didn’t get upset. The WGA has some great people and the reason we’re here is to help one another.

NOW GET THAT CACHE ENABLED SO SOMEONE CAN GET THE FTF.
