We finished the 72 Wisconsin counties 7/5/08 and were disappointed to find that the Milestone page will not accept the number 72. We found caches in 8 counties over the July fourth weekend, spotting a black bear on Highway 2, as well as all the usual fauna, a million wood ticks, and only a hand full of mosquitoes. Lake Superior is aptly named and Ashland’s artesian water is a real treat on a hot summer day. Are we having fun yet – you bet!
It’s Not About the Numbers Stats database has been updated
A curious note: We found 18 caches in 8 counties; the first was found on the heels of Team Honeybunnies in Lincoln County and the last was on the heels of Team Honeybunnies in Iron County.

You should have grabbed the Badger State Challenge – 72 Counties (GC15WT3) cache on your way back down from the northwoods. 😉
(When you say the “Milestone page” would not accept your counties, do you mean the one on the WGA site or somewhere else? I’ve entered all 72 counties here, as have other people, so it should work… if not, send me a PM with the details.)
07/07/2008 at 1:07 pm #1891849Congrats to you T&B! Big milestone in my book. Some day I hope to join you and the others who have already accomplished this feat.

We smiled when we started seeing your name in the logs in Ladysmith. Great to see you’re really up and moving again! And congratulations on those 72 counties as well. Make sure you pass through Stevens Point and say hi when you log the Challenge cache.
Did you happen to stop by the Rusk County Historical Society when you did the cache there? That place is incredible! Every attic in a 50 mile radius must be empty.
Our loop was Minocqua, Boulder Junction, Hurley, Ashland, Hayward, Ladysmith. Yours?
We’ll also be logging some of the Ashland ECs you guys must have done. Hope you had as much fun as we did 😀 .

Took me a second to understand what the problem was there, guys. The milestone page only records # of caches as a milestone. So, if it would allow 72, this would be the entry you would make for finding your 72nd cache, something you did long ago. The page you want is the “State/County Stats” page, where you can enter the first cache found in each county (or just mark that you found a cache in those counties, without mentioning which cache it was.)
07/07/2008 at 2:55 pm #1891852Congratulations on finishing the finds of a cache in all 72 counties!!!! Way to go. Sure is a great way to see the state isnt it?
I do hope you get a chance at some point to visit the Badger State Challenge -72 Counties, the Challenge cache for visiting all 72 counties.
So far the only ones to have found it are the Bandits, Team Honeybunnies, lagrac, Big Stick, jd510, natloh2, and jvechinski.

07/08/2008 at 1:20 am #1891855Congrats, so good to see you two out hitting the trails again.
TE07/08/2008 at 2:37 pm #1891856Congratulations, we still have five counties to go ourselves. We too were following Honeybunnies a bit yesterday. We didn’t have a “loop,” but wanted to get certain caches on our way home from the cabin, mostly near Mellen. There are some awesome caches up that way, as I’m sure you discovered on that marathon run!
07/10/2008 at 3:43 am #1891857All the counties in the state–way to go! Much tougher here than in like–oh, say–Delaware? 😀 😀 😀

😀07/12/2008 at 12:03 am #1891859Have fun, and enjoy the other caches over there if you haven’t already.
Again, congratulations!

😀Shoot… I’m in the area this weekend but already have plans for Saturday noonish.
As T&B said, definitely check out in the other caches in same park, especially Thanks Kurt & Marg! (GCH1FQ). The new Levis Mound cache would not be too far away either (GC1DC9T). I hope you don’t DNF the Challenge cache after driving all that way. Since you’ve found a variety of difficult caches all across the state, finding an ammobox in the woods should be a breeze, right? 😉 (Just teasing Marc… seriously I hope the cache isn’t MIA.)
07/12/2008 at 12:54 pm #1891861Way to go you guys!! I know you have been working on those counties for a while. Now on to COUNTRIES!!
