After this cache initially made the first Lonely Cache Game list, it has seen some adventures

    A Sliver in Time

From Seldom|Seen and Sagasu’s flood water attempts to the following log by Sparse Grey Hackle and the Blondie Bloodhound

August 22 by Sparse Grey Hackle (915 found)
OK, so what was I thinking here? The Blondie Bloodhound calls me up and wants to know if I was up for some Friday-Nite-Caching-After Work. Sure you betcha let’s leave work at a normal time and (in my mind) we can get couple of easy ones in like some 1/1 WSQ’s and then get home and watch the sun go down. Sounds like a plan to me. We gear up (apply bug spray) and head out. Soon, we get to where we have to dismount the cache mobile and it is a beautiful natural area. It is also very hot and humid. Did I say real hot and humid? The Blondie Bloodhound is all excited to find this one and has been talking about this since 4 ever. Hey, did you notice this one has been bumped up to a 3.5 terrain…maybe we should save this for another time I suggest. Come let’s go is all we hear from the BB and the GPSr tells me we are within 500 plus feet of GZ. OK, can’t be too bad…maybe it’s ‘only’ a 3 terrain. Off we go and I take point. Through the hot and steamy field we go and soon we wonder what it is we are walking through…golden rod in bloom…wild mustard or a yet to be discovered new noxious weed. We draw closer. The ground becomes what you would call uneven and I am ready to call a water break because the Blondie Bloodhound is pushing me…. up on point… anxious to move ahead. All I am thinking about is a frosty Point Special and why we are not at some shady WSQ looking for Civil War markers. Come let’s go, is all I hear, chop chop keep moving as the BB encourages me to pick up the pace and we enter into viscous briars and brambles. More bugs and more grabbers and evil vines. By now I have stopped wondering how I do you spell hummocks as we are walking from hummock to hummock say this looks like a great place to twist or break something like an ankle! Keep moving is all I hear. We are getting closer to GZ as I look (after I clear off the shower of sweat from it) at the GPRs screen. At this point the Blondie Bloodhound informs me that we need to be on the other side of a certain topographical feature that she discovered during her mission pre-planning session. Anyway, she now breaks out here Purple muck boots from her geo-gear-bag and I set out on a quick recon of the area to select an appropriate crossing point. It is at this point, that I wonder if GC should have in addition to Terrain attributes something like AGE brackets, but that thought leaves my wandering mind quickly as the Blondie Bloodhound pulls me out of marl that now is coating my geo shorts and parts of my lower extremities. But then it happens. We catch what some of you would call a break A perfect fjord because it is the right size for the little BB’s legs to span! One step closer to an ice-cold Point. Now we are within double digits of GZ and again find ourselves hop scotching on hummocks. The BB is picking up the scent of the cache and moves even faster. (OK, not looking for a nano or a micro out in this wonderful nature area with lots of flora and fauna to see along with the very loud ‘skeeters that are in my ear.) Finally, I stumble into GZ wishing I had a dog towel to wipe my face with. I shut off the GPSr while the BB goes off to find the cache. The heat and humidity has taken its toll. By the now the BB is barely visible due to the swarm of ‘skeeters performing acrobatic maneuvers in front of my eyes. Then through the din of the bugs I hear the BB shout her BINGO. One step closer to getting out of here! We check out the swag in the ammo can. We leave behind an alarm clock in honor of the cache name and I grab the glow-sticks in case I need to signal the rescue helio as to where am for a breezy ride out. The cell phone TB is gone as it looks like some other hardy group of cachers (sage20011) also thought this would be a FUN cache to do the other day. And, as the Blondie Bloodhound would later share with me: That cache was a bit of a challenge. I bet that would be fun to do in winter.
    I vote for terrain of FOUR. TFTC labrat_wr S/L S & R

I cannot take all the credit on this one as I have adopted it and did not stash it in the first place, but I do get to enjoy the fun and have had my own experiences in finding it and refinding it 2 years later.
