Much as we’d enjoy the OCD nature of trying to complete the DeLorme Challenge, our finances–and Birdin’s &^*%^! eco-ethics make it an unreachable goal.

      Or maybe not.

We have a Wisconsin Geocoin that I just activated to be placed in our next cache, and I gave it the mission to complete the DeLorme Challenge for us as people move it around the state. It’ll be fun to see how long it takes the coin to complete the challenge.

Assuming it doesn’t go missing. I’m not quite sure where the first two we released are, but they seem to have been short-timers. Maybe the holders will log them and move them soon, though.

The neat thing about geocaching is that you can find endless ways of playing the game, and still be a member of the club! Since I broke my leg 2 weeks ago, I have been logging notes at various caches that my fellow Bald 2.5 teammates have been to while making the trip to GW5 without me. I have been calling these notes “vicarious finds”, and I think that they are the next best thing to being there. I hope that the cache owners get a kick out of my “finds” as well. Congratulations T & B on your creativity.
