The WGA will be the recipient of two exceptional donations in the months to come.
As noted in the minutes of our Organizational meeting, we have serious web presence issues to address. One of our issues was the purchase of our own web server to host our new site. We were fully expecting to purchase this using the funds generated from our geocoin sale. However, an offer was made by an anonymous donor to fund the purchase of the new server for the WGA. After a brief discussion in the forums after our meeting, Your WGA Board unanimously accepted this offer.
Our sincere Thanks for this generous donation of around $1500 to pay for our new server.
In addition to the cost of a new server, our web hosting needs had to be addressed. In the past CacheCows, Alan and Arlene, have generously donated web server space for us to host our site. With the purchase of our new server a new arrangement had to be made for us to gain access to the Internet. CacheCows has generously given us the option to co-host our server at their facility for an exceptionally low price of $30/ month. This will be at a substantial savings of several thousand dollars per year for comparable service from outside our group. Once again, Your WGA Board unanimously accepted their offer.
A huge Thank You to Alan and Arlene for their continued support of the WGA.
It is the generosity of not only these people, but all who have donated time, energy, and a buck or two in the ammo box, that keeps our organization dues free.
