Hi everyone! I actually started caching at the end of last summer, and joined WGA back then, but had a LONG hiatus over winter and was not very active in the community. (plus I needed to put a new transmission in my car and all the local caches were done already:)
ANYWHO, I sit today with 91 caches and a desire to cache like I have NEVER known! I had knee surgery 7 years ago and my Mom died that same summer, so with in-activity and depression, I did what most folks do, I got fat and spend a lot of time at home on the couch. Well, no more! I did some caching in the fall, but all winter I planned for this spring to be my re-kindling of a love for the outdoors!
In the past week I have purchased;
A) NEW GPS (my etrex legend that I won in a bank raffle is great, but I wanted some eye-candy and a better receiver!)
B) mountain bike (I haven’t been on a bike in 12 years)
C)Premium GC.com membership
D)about $200.00 in “other stuff” like good rechargable batteries, water bottles, a better pack just for going outside (first aid kit, cache repair stuff, bug spray, the stuff I didn’t have last year)I am now all set. ANYWAY, I know this was long and ramble-y but I just wanted to say HI, get used to seeing me around, and I’ll see you at the FTF parties!

04/24/2008 at 5:12 pm #1888290Welcome home. Now get out and find some stuff!
04/24/2008 at 5:14 pm #1888291Welcome to the boards.
…and a new bike?
Now you are talking my language!
There are a few really great bike trails with caches along them…what area do you live in?04/24/2008 at 5:21 pm #1888292Wish I could ride a bike.. 🙁
I’ve seen your name on a lot of logs, CacheARRRS. Good to finally “meet” you.
04/24/2008 at 8:55 pm #1888293I am in Oshkosh. But I now work in Fon du Lac, so I have been starting to “clean up” a few down here on my lunch breaks.
I can’t WAIT to get out and bike a few of the “caching” trails this summer. I might be taking it a bit slower since I am not anywhere NEAR the shape I used to be in, but you gotta start somewhere right? And I figure, “hey one more cache is only .5 mile down the road….I can push it farther…” Now that’s MY kind of motivation!
I got two more today while I was waiting for a report to get bound at staples. now I juts hope my Garmin Colorado gets here in time for my 100th find since I KNOW I am going to hit it this weekend!
04/24/2008 at 9:14 pm #1888294Well perhaps I’ll see you on the trails this weekend as I will be cachin Oshkosh on Sunday morning. I thought about bringing my bike up and caching on a path but decided to drive around instead. Have fun with the Colorado and please post back your thoughts on the model.
04/24/2008 at 9:29 pm #1888295Welcome back. I think if I had a new bike, or at least a comfortable one, I might find myself biking more and caching less.
04/25/2008 at 3:33 am #1888296Hey welcome, pull up a stool and get comfy. We are glad you are here.

04/25/2008 at 1:46 pm #1888297Hi CacheARRRS.
We too have seen your name in the logs.
Last year I did some training for a long bicycle ride and worked geocaching into the routine. I would ride out to the nearest cache and grab it. The next day I would get the next closest one. As you can see, each ride got progressively longer.
I have put together a bookmark list of caches along the WiOuWaSh trail, from Oshkosh to Appleton.
Good luck and hope to see you on the trails.
