By the way, I’m signed up for 9AM Sunday.

I kept seeing this on Facebook myself. I wanted to set a fitness goal this year. I signed up for the Saturday 10:30 wave also. I need to go to the gym.

Wow! I grew up just down the road from here. I never imagined Twin Lakes would have something like this.

For those familiar with the area, this race is held on the property of the Shadow Hill Ranch, site of the Country Thunder Music Festival, among other events.

If anyone is still contemplating this… I’ve just confirmed with a few friends and we will be doing the 8:30 am Sunday wave for the Minnesota race. still working out times for the WI race.

I looked at the Minnesota one. Not running up and down the ski hills! Back in the day, I ran hills with a vengeance and well, but now? I’m acting a little more my age. Have fun!

figured I should report back for those considering it…

Had an absolute blast. course was the toughest I’ve done ( including cross country courses on ski hills). there were a total of 4 ski runs that you ended going straight up. the obstacles weren’t too bad. if you rush you get yourself in trouble… if you take your time it isn’t a problem.

I finished in 33 minutes. the fastest time of the day was 22 minutes. I checked the results before I left the grounds, and of the two waves (900 runners) I was 111 overall. Didn’t bring a camera because I wasn’t sure if I would be able to stow it anywhere, but when I do the race in September, I’ll definitely have it with. only 55 days or so left until the next one!

I had a friend do the Warrior Dash last year and she loved it. I have another friend doing something similar in Chicago this fall.

    Nice on the time/placing uws22!

Brian, you slacker. Instead of doing the Minnesota race, you should have done this one…Tough Mudder Some of my workout buddies did this over the weekend. They said it was more difficult that running a marathon.

I read about that one today…looked like a blast! I especially was impressed with the fact that they had to run through electrical wires.

a few of my friends were doing WD, which is why I chose that one. I may do tough mudder next year, but will depend on my training schedule for a marathon I hope to do in summer or fall. I’ve been contemplating a triathlon, but that would require me doing more than just a doggy paddle.

final results are now posted… I was 705th of 8883 overall (top 8%) and 153 of 1119 (top 14%) for my age group. hopefully pics are up soon.
