A few years ago, Trudy & I were geocaching in Waukesha County, we stepped off the boardwalk in a low area to go examine a likely spot in a nearby tree. We were caught in the act by a young couple walking the trail. He said with a large grin on his face that he knew what we were doing; that his dad was a geocacher. She was quiet through our discussion as she let her husband gush with pride in the achievements of his father. Yesterday, Jennifer Bukosky was laid to rest with her daughter and unborn child. Their lives snuffed out by a Doctor high on prescription drugs self prescribed. Her Father-in-law and that young man’s father is Steve Bukosky. A former member of the WGA BOD and a longtime friend of many Wisconsin geocachers. Our hearts go out to Steve and Pat and their family. Your loss deeply saddens all us. T&tb
05/03/2008 at 6:22 pm #1888703My kids are in the same school and grade as Courtney and Zach (also in the accident and brother to Courtney) as well as another young girl who is still recovering from the accident. Courtney was a sweet girl and will be missed. My best wishes to to Zach, Steve and his family. This was a sad sad day in Oconomowoc.
05/03/2008 at 8:24 pm #1888704I read about that a few days ago. How sad indeed. My condolences to Steve and all family members affected.
05/03/2008 at 10:34 pm #1888705I was in Pennsylvania when I heard the news. It wasn’t until I came back to Wisconsin that I found out that this was Steve’s daughter-in-law and children.
I’m very saddened by the news. They are all in my heart too.

05/05/2008 at 3:18 pm #1888707This was very sad news indeed. Topped off by the offender who should have known better, not to mention had just been convicted of his 3rd offense DUI just a few days before the accident.
They had better throw the book at this guy, because when he gets out, he’ll just do it again.
05/06/2008 at 6:41 am #1888708I’m new to the whole geo caching thing, so I don’t know Steve or his family, but that’s not important. What is important is that this horrible tragedy could have been prevented if the State of Wisconsin would actually get tough on trunk drivers instead of just pretending to do so.
The heartfelt condolences of myself and my entire family go out to Steve and their entire extended family.

Better yet, throw a speeding car at him.
05/06/2008 at 11:01 pm #1888710Our condolences to Steve’s family and also to those here who were close to him. Your loss is our loss, if not in intensity, then in the common bond we all feel when something or someone we share in common affects us all.
05/08/2008 at 11:49 am #1888711After hearing her name, I had wondered if she was related to Steve. My condolences go out to the Bukosky family.
05/08/2008 at 3:41 pm #1888712To all who were close to her and her family, I hold prayers of comfort. Though a difficult time, remember all those special times…..even those moments as casual as the one Beast mentioned above.
God Bless!!
