This is my newest Travel Bug. It’s a pop culture icon. (If you don’t know what it is you’re either too young or too old) 😆
Look for it in a cache near you!
04/01/2010 at 11:00 pm #1926316I love it!!! Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start….thirty lives!!!
04/01/2010 at 11:12 pm #1926317The Konami/ Contra Code 🙂
You may notice that nowhere on this TB does it say “Nintendo”. This is a new Chinese reproduction. I wouldn’t dare hack apart a genuine controller.
I cut off the cord and glued the TB tag to the back using JB Weld. I think it should hold. I may still put a screw through it for added security.
My idea is that people who used to have a Nintendo back in 1985 should be able to pick up this TB and mash the buttons in (or input the contra code for 30 lives 😉 ) I’m hoping it should bring back a lot of good memories for a lot of people.
04/01/2010 at 11:19 pm #1926318I used to dominate Super Contra…I could still punch in that code in my sleep with my hands tied behind my back. If was not playing Super Contra, it was Guerilla War, or 1942. I should try to find a Nintendo.
04/01/2010 at 11:39 pm #1926319I threw both my nintindo and saga away when I moved, DUMB DUMB DUMB!!
04/01/2010 at 11:43 pm #1926320I think I am going to be sick.
My mom sold my atari and my nintendo in a garage sale. I had probably 100 games for each…sold them both together for 5 bucks. Never told me, she just said “you never play them anymore, I did not think it would be a big deal” That was many moons ago, but I still have not let her live that one down.
04/01/2010 at 11:45 pm #1926321We’ve got one at my house.
04/02/2010 at 12:59 am #1926322My son had one like this. Somebody wanted it even with a hole drilled through it…
04/02/2010 at 1:50 am #1926323You wouldn’t happen to have one of these? http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/rare-nintendo-game-is-40-000-windfall/1391148

Thats really unfortunate. Lets hope my Nintendo controller lasts a little longer than yours.
04/02/2010 at 1:54 pm #1926325I’ve got a Nintendo in my closet right now. All it needs is a new 72 pin connector (the old ones turn green and stop reading the cartridges.) I’ve been meaning to fix it, but just never got around to it. You can buy the connectors on eBay for pretty cheap. If anybody wants to give it a shot I’d be willing to let it go.
04/02/2010 at 2:35 pm #1926326Wow, how many hours did I waste (ok waste is the wrong word) on Super mario, Contra and my fav, Gauntlet? I still have some games but the system went bye bye a long time ago.
Love the idea for the TB, and very happy to hear you used a repro.
04/06/2010 at 9:43 pm #1926327Still have my old Atari…still works…if you can find a tv set to plug it into 😀
Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
04/07/2010 at 1:16 am #1926328I still have my working RCA Studio II. Atari came along and put an end to RCA and video games…
