Yeah its been awhile…
Unfortunatley the DOT wanted us to have the signs up before going out to do the pickups because the safety signs attach to the road signs or something like that….
That’s why we didn’t have an event this year. They didn’t have the signs up until Octoberish.
K0rpl has volunteered to help me out with organizing the NE Pickup for next year so watch the events listing.
Thanks for the patience…
Yes, I will help in whatever capacity I can. The main reason for me wanting to get this going, is the state has cracked down on the adapt a Highway Program. The Ham radio club that I belong to used to do the section 1 mile south of the Hwy 41 Weigh Scale near kaukauna to one mile past it. We did the Northbound lanes. We were not able to do it three times a year, and the state said that they needed to take it back if we couldn’t do it three times a year, so the club gave it up, and it hasn’t been cleaned since. Makes you wonder what the logic is there!!! it was atleast getting cleaned once, and now it is not! Um, OK…
Yes, they give you orange flags on poles, and they attach to the sign pole. that is supposed to warn motorists that you are there working. (Not like anybody pays attention though!!!)
