Here’s the deal. Our older son’s roommate got himself a pit bull puppy. Then the dog got kicked out of the apartment and ended up at our place at 2 in the morning. This kid has been trying to find a new home for her and can’t. She’s been with us about a month now.
She’s about 20 weeks old. Needs all the medical stuff, of course, cause these kids have no money to take care of that. She’s got a sweet temperment and is great with our son’s dog. Still needs work with housebreaking. Typical of her breed, she loves people, especially kids.
We just cannnot have her, but we don’t want her ending up at a shelter, either. If anyone here is interested, or knows someone who is, please email us. She really is adorable and has a good temperment. I’ll take some photos later and post them. We haven’t taken photos, because we don’t want to get too attached!
I’m not in the market for a dog of any kind, but I figured I’d try to help you. Have you looked into a dog rescue organization? There are several around the state, usually catergorized by breed. I’m thinking if you Google “Pit Bull Rescue Organizations in Wisconsin” that you’d come up with something pretty quick.
These organizations work tirelessly to match up people who are looking for a specific breed of dog. They also make sure that any home the dog would be going to would be stable and that the dog would be well taken care of.
Give that a shot and I wish you luck.
Thanks, I did look into that. They want the dogs to be neutered, and it not being our dog, I wasn’t ready to foot the bill for that procedure. Happily, my son was able to find a new home for her, and she has a doggie friend at her new home, so hopefully all’s well now.
That’s great news!! I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of Pit Bulls (heard all the horror stories, you know), but I know that the people who do own them are adament about them. Hopefully things work out well for all involved.
