All I want for Christmas is my newly found caching-wannabe buddy and love of my life, back here in my life. He has passed away, just one week ago (and after only 3 weeks of knowing him), at the tender age of 54.
I miss him tremendously, but know that in the future, we’ll have our chance to cache someday, in the Greater Heavenly outdoors, where DNF’s don’t exist, caches never get muggled and our GPSers never lose power or signal.
Hope you all have a great Holiday Season!
Blessings to all!
Anne
PS Happy thoughts are gratefully appreciated via PM here. They’ll get lost in my e-mail for sure!

12/19/2007 at 11:57 pm #1882343A few years ago after recieving an electric pencil sharpener from Mr. TE for Christmas I realized he really needed help figuring out what to get me. So I let him know that the local massage lady offers a Dec. special… 6 for the price of 5. This is the third year in a row I have gotten this wonderful gift. I go every other month so it lasts all year. He says he doesn’t need anything for Christmas so I am still looking for the perfect gift… for the guy that has everything…

12/20/2007 at 5:57 am #1882345I’M not double posting anything!!
Just one for me.
Only one person. At least I think.
Sometimes the Voices in my head tell me to act differently!
I need a bigger Computer Desk!!!
12/20/2007 at 11:47 am #1882346What do I want?
Well as I already bought myself a new computer and updated my mapping software, I guess I would have to ask the ol red dude for a NEW Palm, private GSAK lessons and for him to arrange for about 20 new Earthcaches to be placed around the state.
(Santa I really haven’t been good but at least I wasn’t caught being bad.)12/20/2007 at 2:26 pm #1882347Yeah. Great fresh snow on a day when I can ski it. Why does it drizzle on my day off, anyway?
Earthcaches in Iowa that are like, close to Lansing or something in that tri-state corner–go for the gold!
Someone to get it through our sons’ heads what the true meaning of life is supposed to be!

On a more serious note…..
Anne, sorry to hear about your friend. Too young, for sure.12/20/2007 at 4:12 pm #1882348Wellll, I want the snow to go away so I can go back outside and play!!!! π
Hey Furfool – for your wifey, get a weekend getaway – we go to Appleton and stay at the Comfort Inn – free drinks from 5-7 – and go swimming, to dinner, pool (a little geocaching, heck there is a geocache right at the hotel).
If she likes purses and shoes, get her a gift certificate to your local shoe store or mall so she can have fun and get some more!
Otherwise, give her a calendar with a date marked on it with a heart. Tell her there will be a surprise on that day and make a romantic evening at home. Maybe out for dinner first, then some wine, a nice bath for her and music – you get the picture – pamper her – us ladies love that.
Boppin – so sorry to hear of your friend! PM on the way! π₯

I second this, my former work place brought in people with their special chairs to give massages once a month and split the cost with us..so 15 mins was 7.50. Oh man was that money well spent…and it didn’t hurt they were kinda cute and always fun to chat with :>
As for the man who has everything gift… I’d say give him time, time with you(have a date night, do something different like go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra Jan 6th, awesome show), time by himself (encourage him to take a guy trip or take some time to finish that project), when it comes down to it the memories built from those times will mean more than any material thing you can give.
Now personally, I’m a material person..I like toys, .as long as I can find a spot for it. So feel free to send over a new gps or a digital camera :>

12/20/2007 at 10:44 pm #1882351I love Trekkin’ and Birdin’ s new avatar! Somebody show me how to do that!! Is that a Birdin’ hand rendering of one of those Great Auks?
12/20/2007 at 10:54 pm #1882352Um, don’t tell anyone, but it’s kind of a variation of the Big Woods Ivorybill logo. I’m gonna have to mess with it some more before we can have pathtags made. I think I’m okay to handcarve a stamp like this for a letterbox hybrid, though.
I did draw it myself, though. Thanks!
12/20/2007 at 11:09 pm #1882353Very impressive, Birdin’. I’ve been an artist for a long time, and the whole picture is nicely balanced. Maybe try downsizing the scroll/map just a bit. It’s just the Trekkin’ aspect anyway…..! I think it will make an awesome pathtag. Why are you being so minimalistic? Just go for the coin!!!!!
