didn’t know peeps were edible………
04/12/2009 at 6:00 am #1905446Aww… C’mon, they’re Peeps! You have to have at least one for it to be Easter. Better than candy corn, and even better when stale as hell 😉 .

Chocolate tops marshmallow any holiday.
That goes without saying.

The Easter Bunny left them unwrapped in our baskets, and they got so hard the we thought they were just meant to be part of the decorations. Then, when I was old enough to buy my own peeps, I discovered that they were quite soft and tasty when eaten right from the package.
Mmmm-mmmmm. Pink bunny peeps, bite the ears off first…
04/12/2009 at 1:22 pm #1905448That dern Bunny left some here this morning….next year I’m letting the dog know Mr. Bunny is fair game.
04/12/2009 at 1:29 pm #1905449Peeps rule!
04/12/2009 at 3:14 pm #1905450For the people that like Peeps, they are excellent for bribes! 😯
04/12/2009 at 4:33 pm #1905451Well, it’s off to the family Easter brunch. Let’s see how much candy I can con out of my sister’s grandkids. Thanks to us, they all know about Peeps–Peeps ghosts, Peeps snowmen, and, of course, Peeps bunnies and chicks!
Happy Easter, and good eating!

How can you tell?!?
Every time I’ve had a peep, my only thought was “Why didn’t I remember how much I don’t like these things?”. One a year is too much.
04/14/2009 at 3:21 am #1905453Peeps are sooooo good I buy extras just so I don’t have to steal from Jerry and Jacob!
OH yeah Peeps are ment to be CHICKS!

04/15/2009 at 5:16 pm #1905455Wow! I didn’t realize there were so many Peep-bashers out there…They’re excellent toasted over a fire in a s’more. The sugar causes them to turn all sorts of pretty colors (unless you’re a s’more hater too).

I HATE PEEPS!!!!!!
Ditto to the Nth and not sure why how they can be so popular given the seeming majority in this thread that is overwhelmingly anti-peep.
04/15/2009 at 7:53 pm #1905457Just save yourself the trouble and pour a few spoonfuls of sugar down your throat. Gritty AND sickeningly sweet. What’s not to love?
Disclaimer: I am in the minority in this household…
On the Left Side of the Road...04/19/2009 at 9:26 pm #1905458We’re out of town and I’m on my nieces’s computer, but I had to tell you what I ate yesterday–a chocolate covered peep. To die for! We were at a choclolate shop we always visit–they make their own chocolates, and that’s heavenly enough, but they had dipped peeps bunnies into chocolate to get a light coating all over. The owner of the shop said it cuts the sweetness and grittiness of the sugar, and it was like eating an exceptional marshmallow covered with exceptional milk chocolate with a hint of crunch in the sugar layer.
I did not attempt a chocolate covered Twinkie because I believe you can’t improve on perfection–leave the junk food”holiest of holies” alone–but that chocolate covered peep was simply divine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
04/19/2009 at 10:15 pm #1905459One of the unique trash items collected at the Appleton CITO was 2 peeps in a cheeto bag. Just thought I would share considering a thread dedicated to peeps.
for the record, I like peeps but none of my kids do. i think people who make them stale on purpose are nuts. those are probably the same people who eat their brats crispy burnt. if peeps were meant to be stale they would sell them that way…
