i would really like to know if it is possible to log event temps, instead of on the event page, on one of my own caches? i would like the number of events in my profile to be just how many events i attended. but if i work hard, like a lot of the wisconsin events make you work for the cache, i want to show them as caches found.
    any discussion?

It is your cache page- you can do whatever you want as far as logging on it is concerned. You could allow everyone to log their finds on it if you really wanted to.

Chances are that sooner or later some out-of staters will raise an issue with this just as they have with the WGA event pages. If you don’t mind getting razzed that wouldn’t matter either. I wonder how many e-mails GrouseTales has gotten protesting the WGA policy? A good number, I bet.

Sooner or later if this type of “false” log were to become widely known, I would be willing to bet that Groundspeak will take action to prevent it. As we have seen, the majority of geocachers around the rest of the world find the practice of logging temp caches inappropriate.

I think it would look bad if you were logging finds on one of your own cache pages. Granted, you actually found the caches and deserve the “find”. Some might suspect you are somehow creating your own cache page to artificially increase your found count.

I really wish groundspeak allowed a found it log on the cache pages still.

There’s got to be better way. Nothing I’ve seen really tackles the problem.

even with the previous way of logging found on the event page, it still didn’t show the true count for the events themselves. i guess the only thing we can do is just bite the bullet and not log the temps, but that is soooooo hard. i may not be in it strictly for the numbers anymore, but they sure do look good on the stats page.
