Several of us Hams plan to utilize the Plymouth Repeater when at the picnic and traveling in the area. Hopefully the repeater won’t be in use for any other events.

Does this work for those with FRS or GMRS radios?
How about a typical police scanner (monitor)?

No, sorry won’t work with FRS/GMRS radios. You need a FCC Amateur Radio License in order to talk on the Ham bands, but anyone can listen. Yes, a police scanner WILL work. 147.060 Mhz.

Boy, Ham radio worked great at the picnic. Several of us Hams were able to keep touch thoughout the day. Even reach from 40 miles away on our way up from Milwaukee

I’m pretty sure that’s one my next hobbies to get into. Good to know that there are people around to answer questions…

I know the morse code for a ‘D’ : dog did it : -.. is burned into my head for life. During the afternoon, Grousetales demonstrated some ham training materials. Don’t ask what the dog did.
