Imagine the “Goosey” cache you could make with these!

Of course you’d need to use something like this as the “mama” cache…

Um, gee gang… sorry, but I wasn’t really serious

Arlene read an article about this auction site while waiting for a crown to be put on, and we were browsing it when I saw this deal.

Heck, there are almost 600 ammo boxes in this deal, the DNR would run us out of state for sure! Plus, I’ve no idea what it would cost to ship 4 pallets, nor where I’d put them!

    Oh well…

Here I thought you’d have the storage/shipping thing all worked out already.. Leave it to me to look like a sucker… Maybe in a smaller version that wouldn’t be too bad of a deal. I’ve always got a use for ammo cans..

With 17 hours left, the bid was up to about $310. If there were 600 ammo cans, that is only .50 each… plus your shipping.

Of course, the shipping would probably be more than the cans. Oh well, my garage was too full for them anyway.

Best deal on shipping – this is a rough estimate:

FedEx and UPS would be out on this deal. You migh be able to get a LTL carrier to back-haul four pallets [1-2 tons]for $1.75-2.00 per mile [best price in the 1980’s was 1.25-1.35]. From Fort Benning [900-1000 miles] you would be adding $1500-2000 to the cost of the lot. Unless you know somebody.

The easiest and cheapest way to get them here would be to purchase a Travel Bug for each pallet, and state the TBs’ missions as having a destination to a cache near your house.

It might take a few months to get them, but the total cost would be about 20 bucks.

We’d also be known for having some of the largest TBs in the world.

If it’s a Travel bug, Trudy will grab it. let’s hope she doesn’t hear about this.
