All of my caches so far have been tupperware type containers but I have always wished there was a source of cheap ammo containers someplace.
On my way home from mountain biking in the Kettle Moraine this morning I happened along just such a place:
The Trip Wire – Army Surplus, which is on County A about 5 miles east of Janesville. The sell both 30 cal & 50 cal boxes for $5 and the price goes up to $15 for the huge ones (I have never seen any this big while caching). Seemed like a reasonable price to me and I picked up some to update some of my troubling caches (Like JSOL which always seems to move around via animals….. or Trolls ). Seems like a good guy who runs it and if anyone wanted to buy in bulk for a group, I would imagine it would not be hard to get a price break.

Delaney’s Surplus near Baraboo, one of my sources of supplies and ammo boxes has a few 50 cal. for 3 for $10. If anyone wants some, I can bring them to the picnic.

Just went past Trip Wire about 10 minutes ago. Its only a few miles north of where I live, but I’ve never been in there. Now I’ve got a reason to check them out
