Awesome you guys! It’s good to know that you are trying to fill a need! With all the talk of containers lately, and the questions of where to locate ammo cans, it’s great to see that you’ve stepped in to help!

Our local military surplus store on Wisconsin ave in Appleton is closing down. I had bought all mine from there in the past and always got a good price. Maybe I should stop on by and see what they are selling theirs for if they have any left.

He is where we obtain our ammo can needs in Southeastern Wisconsin

    Kenosha Military Surplus
    6527 39th Ave
    Kenosha, WI 53142
    262-654-5335
    N42*34.530 W087*51.316

call first to check if he has any in stock (usually keeps quite a few in stock)

    .30 cal $8.00
    .50 cal $12.00

They are as is, sometimes you get lucky in having camo painted on them already but most times you have to add that yourself. Makes a nice project for those rainy days when you can’t go out caching.

Last time I called there he had one 50 cal can and it was $15.00. That was about 2 months ago. 😯

I noticed a week ago or so that Fleet Farm in Beaver Dam has some army surplus back by the hunting/fishing area. On the bottom shelf they had quite a few ammo cans ranging in sizes at reasonable prices I thought. I don’t know if other Fleet Farm’s stock similiar stuff.

Delany’s surplus (between Sauk City and Baraboo on Hwy 12) usually has a couple pallets of them for $5 each. Plus you can load up on swag. (though they do not take plastic for payment. and prefer cash)

Made a deilvery to tyedyeskyguy last weekend. Still have a few NON geocaching stencil/painted, comes as they are from surplus left if anyone is interested.

$5 a piece pickup in Madison area.

Also have some scratch, slight dent and odd paint ones for half off if that suits your need.

    E-mail me if interested.

Thanks for the great deal on those boxes! They are in better shape than the ones I’ve been buying at Sherpers, and less then half the cost!!!

I live in Wausau and just went to Fleet Farm today. They keep them in the Fishing area on the bottom shelf it seems. Bought a .50 Cal for $5 in great shape. They were fresh out of .30 Cal cans though 🙁
